title says it all really we want to try and save some money on this trip so wondered could we bring our own food and drink into the parks or is this disallowed?

The simple answer is yes as long as none of it is in glass containers. However, no rolling coolers are allowed.

we saved a fortune by bringing in water bottles and filling them up with the many water fountains located around the parks. we kept our cool box in the car so we had cool drinks at the end of a long day.

we have always taken food and drink to ANY of the parks inc US and IOA, tbh id prefer a burger or a dog than a sarny anyday lol

Yes at Disney but no glass and I'm not sure about alcohol, especially in the Magic Kingdom.

Other theme parks are a bit less flexible - Universal I know are pretty strict on not letting you bring food in.

You may not transport alcohol into any park in any container.
