Hi All,

This might sound really silly but have only ever had one connecting flight before and that was to Hong Kong.

When having a connecting flight through JFK, do you have to go to baggage claim and check in again for your second flight, or do you simply get off the plane, find your gate for the next flight and get on? No security or anything that is likely to delay me- other than immigration?

Yep the airline takes care of your bags and no security to go through.

:rotfl: All my important stuff (I.E... Camera, laptop, money and arrival documents) are going in my carry-on, they can do what they like with the rest :rotfl:

If it's your first US landing you have to reclaim your bags & go through customs.

Yep, as Nicki says. There you will find a conveyor belt upon which to deposit your luggage and it will show up again at your final destination (I hope )
