I've just been watching their interview and it still seems heartbreaking to me but many people on facebook are saying they think that the parents killed her. It doesnt seem possible to me

what do you think of the whole thing? could you have left little children lieing there asleep when you went over the road for a meal I dont think I could

It's a tough one but if the parents did kill her would they really still keep bringing back into the public eye. No one will ever know unfortunately until they find her.
We don't have kids yet but I can say if we did I most certainly could not have left my children on their own like that - you wouldn't leave them at home in this country and go down the road for a meal so why would you do it in a foreign country.
It's very sad and I do hope they find her in one piece, maybe with the met police on the case there maybe a few new leads - fingers crossed!

I think it was Dr Hilary that just visited the resort and said that it was really like you sat at the end of your garden having a bbq so not far at all. Other than that i have nothing but sympathy for this family, i cant even imagine what theyve gone through

It must be your worst nightmare come true and even worse when the police over there just closed the case after a year with what seems like little investigation. Good for them for not letting it go

I think if it was my child still missing then I would never ever give up. Not until my last dying breath, so so sad.

I don't think so, but I do feel that if it were a single mother or a family living on benefits that had left their daughter in a room without supervision and she had gone missing that they would be called all the names under the sun and more than likely prosecuted for neglect/abuse

Very true Josh.

I do not think they harmed her but what they did was wrong. I do think they have been punished enough by having to live with the nightmare for the rest of their lives. Sadly people do stupid things without thinking of it.
In 2003 I took Beth to Orlando with a friend and her disabled son. We had a long day at the park and friends son was past it and put to bed. I offered to take Beth and get some chinese as we were on ID. She said give me 5 and I will come, when I asked if she were getting her ds up she said no he will be fine. Well no he could not wander off but what if there was a fire or he had a seizure. When we left I said Chinese is just to left, she said oh let's look at shops. I am afraid it bothered me more than her.

 Completely agree with you Josh.

I know they are asking the PM if he will open the case again, but I don't think the Police should have to look into it. Money is tight enough for the Metropolitan Police as it is and it concerns me that other people who something has just happened to might not get as much rescources because of this.

They shouldn't have left their children on their own, they were far too young and sadly they have to live with that forever :sigh:

It is a massive punishment that they have to live with themselves after this but I still think they should be punished by law.

Hmm. Is it just a coincidence that the McCanns have just published a book?....or am I being a bit cynical?

i dont think much of them at all. would you go for a meal and leave 3 tiny kids alone? i know i wouldnt. esp when there is a baby sitting service at the resort

in the US you can get charged with a misdemeanor or felony if you leave a small child napping if you pop to the shops

Believe me, they are paying dearly each and every day for this :( Hindsight is a wonderful thing. It is torture for them.

I'm not going to throw stones they're being punished. No I never did what they did but I do feel for them.

Yes they have just published a book about Madeline and what happened. I downloaded it yesterday and read the first couple of chapters. I am bit unsure of what to make of it yet as the first two chapters area About Kate growing up and Kate meeting and marrying Gerry. I am glad the sales are going to towards the efforts to help find the dear little mite though.

I have every sympathy and cannot even begin to imagine what it must be like to lose a child. However we would never have left a little one alone like that - not at such a tender young age.

I dont think they are to blame or should be blamed for what happened to there daughter , at the end of the day they have lost there child which no parent should ever have to go thru. its totally irrelevant that they had left the kids in the room asleep thousands of parents worldwide do that on holiday (they hadnt neglected the kids in anyway they where asleep and the parents where only having a drink in sight of the front door) I cant understand how anyone can blame the parents or say such wicked things about them ,if anything we should all be vigilant and keep the search alive.

well many of us dont think it's irrelevant and think its important not to let other parents think its acceptable to leave kids alone especially in places new to them like whilst on holiday. cards on the table, I think it is neglect yes.

anyway that aside, no one can argue that we should all be vigilant and hope that she comes back safe and sound
