I guess the foggy stuff is the clouds. It doesn't look at all like that to the naked eye.

It was really big the other day here too. Sometimes it almost seems reachable.

I took some photos last night but the moon in a photo just looks like a moon on any other night, like johnie said a camera doesn't give a true likeness.

Last night was the Supermoon. It was awesome in person and looked so much bigger and brighter than my phone shot.

I hate to be a nerdy jerk about this but the moon is always the same size - it is the same size in the sky as your little finger extended at arms length - it is tiny
'Moon effect is a powerful optical illusion that makes it seem huge when it is near the horizon yeta photograph will sho that it simply isn't large its just an optical effect
To check this yourself ( if you are able) bend over and look at the moon from between your legs upside down -the effect vanishes!
The 'supermoon' was 2% bigger than usual - well 2 % on something that tiny is not going to be perceptable
I'm afraid all those amazing photos where the moon occupies much of the sky are photoshopped
sorry
