Without a doubt the best meal on site was when we dined at the Chef`s Table at V & A`s.

Off -site, it has to be Bern`s Steakhouse in Tampa where we went with one of our CM friends a couple of years ago.

I REALLY have to try Bern's one day

I'm struggling to pick my absolute best ever meal because I've had so many special ones. I mean heck, cosmic rays at the magic kingdom late night with chicken and chips has been pretty amazing when starving

California grill watching the fireworks, glass of champagne.

If I go for the best food though, victoria and albert for sure

V&A without a doubt.

But, like Slowhand, I really have always liked Bern's in Tampa. Although I haven't eaten there since about 1967! :mental:

True story... my family went to Bern's way back when. My dad took a look at their wine cellar and proclaimed loudly for all and sundry to hear: "what a place for sophisticated drunks!".
I tried to hide under the table. :embarassed2:

Tom (:macwave:... the sommelier was not pleased!)

 what a story! but how great that you went there so long ago!

I'm going to be very tempted to make a reservation for December but it'll possibly take me that long to decide on the cut and size of steak! They don't skimp on the options do they

Yep, Berns is a heck of an experience. I particularly enjoyed the "tour" of the place in-between courses, and the wine cellar is amazing.

I was thinking we could get a hotel up there for a night or two and maybe hit up busch gardens the following day or something

What is the DON CESAR like

Yep! The Don Cesar. Built back in the 1924. The "Pink Lady" played host to all kinds of famous personalities; F. Scott Fitzgerald, Clarence Darrow, Franklin Roosevelt and even Al Capone.

It's really a delightful place to spend some time. My DW and I went down there several years ago and spent a week. Did nothing but lay around, eat, drink, swim and read. Probably one of the most relaxing vacations I've ever had!

Tom (:macwave:.... wonder if Uncle Andy's Ice Cream shop is still there?)

Go check the link to the resort back in my post here (click me) (http://wdisneysecrets.com/forums/showthread.php?t=18663&p=254206&viewfull=1#post254206), Robert.

It's a beautiful, old resort hotel on St. Petersburg beach that has nothing to do in it except rest, eat, drink, sleep, swim and relax. Right on the beaches of the Gulf of Mexico.

Tom (:macwave:... fan of "The Don"!)

Ummmm....Joe's Crab Shack.

We don't do all that fine dining that some of you do but this is hands down the best all round experience we've had in restaurant in Orlando. Good food, great service, awesome atmosphere, and proper food on the kid's menu. Also Steven loved the fact that he could eat with his fingers and throw the shell bits into a bucket on the table.

So completely going back.

Have to agree with slowhand and catrancher here. V&A wins hands down for best ever at Disney. Have also done Bern's but years ago when my cousin was living in Tampa.
