View Full Version : Who says that making ADR`s is difficult?

I rang yesterday to make several ADR`s for our trip in September. I was prepared to make some adjustments to my requests seeing as I`ve left it a bit late BUT [apart from one of them], I managed to get them all for where I wanted and at the time I wanted. :wiggle:
The only one I had a problem with was at the YSH where I was told that the earliest time for the day I chose [Saturday] was at 9.05 pm which was way too late. A quick email to my friend at the YSH though resolved the issue as he emailed back today telling me that he had sorted things out for me. :smiley4:

He sure is Wendy.
I`m running out of Beatles "stuff" to give to him when we go over! I`ll have to persuade him to become an EC fan one of these days. :marley:

Wonder if perhaps this means I might be able to find something better than the San Angel Inn on our first night...maybe I'll ring them this afternoon on my way home....

We have lots of favorite places.
'Ohana at the Poly is nice. We always meet friends there. If you time it right, you can see Wishes.
We love breakfast at Whispering Canyon Cafe at Wilderness Lodge. It is cheap and filling. There is also all kinds of rowdy entertainment. Alysia really likes dinner there too. They have all you can drink milkshakes.
50's Prime Time Cafe at Hollywood Studios is another favorite. The pot roast is yummy and quite large. There are also lots of fun antics as well.
Le Cellier at Epcot is very nice for a good steak. It is not a rowdy restaurant.
Cape May Cafe at the Beach Club has an all you can eat seafood buffet at night. It is very good for a buffet.
Beaches and Cream is at the Beach Club and has the best hamburgers. They also have HUGE desserts. No ADR's there though. It's wait for a table.
Boma at Animal Kingdom Lodge is just awesome. They have lots of unusual things and enough normal stuff so that everyone can find something to eat.
I could go on and on

Make ADRs wherever it looks interesting or nice to you Mick. You can always cancel them if you meet with too much reisistance from your family, so nothing lost. Just allows you to have a guaranteed option.
In addition to those restaurants already mentioned, I'd steer clear of the new place in Italy (in the WS). It's wicked expensive, and let's face it. How good can it possibly be? It's Italian for heaven sake!
Germany in the WS has a nice buffet that doesn't have exotic seletions on it. Usually there is a nice sauerbraten, an assortment of sausages and some sort of schnitzel (usually chicken). It's a festive atmosphere with entertainment too.
Even the Chefs du France (downstairs restaurant) in the WS isn't too exotic. They have pretty predictable things, like Croque Monsier (grilled cheese and ham by any other name) salade nicoise (again, chef salad with tuna) etc.
OH! Morocco has Marrakesh! That is a fun place to eat and the food is quite nice too! If you go for dinner you'll be entertained by the Middle Eastern Dancer and the musician. The food has exotic names, but really is chicken for a' that!
Chef Mickey's is very popular for the character interaction. I find it a little too chaotic, but when there are little kids along it's a good choice. The buffet is pretty nice too, as is the 1900 Park Fare buffet.
Hope that helps a bit.

We like going to the character meals. They can be quite fun. Our favorite is Liberty Tree before the Halloween party. The characters are all dressed up.
Tink, we did the dining plan in May and ate in Italy. First time there. It is quite pretty inside. We went for LUNCH, had 2 Coke's, 2 entrees and 2 desserts. The total was $89 BEFORE tip. I would never pay that out of pocket. Alysia had the canneloni and it was fab but my pasta with crab was pretty blah. Dessert was good.
I've not heard anything too good about the place, Johnie. Good to know there are some nice things there!
YSH is nice Mick. You'll like your steak. Japan can be lots of fun now too, with their new set up. That's another place we'll want to try soon!

ok so YSH and LTT so far :)
Be sure to go early for your ADR at YSH. You can wait to be called at the Crew's Cup Lounge which is connected by a doorway. Schooners of beer! :D NICE place to wait and relax before or after dinner.
