Recently a friend of a friend mentioned that on her trip to FL a couple of months ago (early April) she was very very disappointed with SeaWorld. She felt the change in ownership had really allowed the quality to decline. Has anyone else been since April or even this year who can tell me if her expectations are too high or if it's worth skipping while we are there in December? I will likely revisit this topic again closer to time, but SeaWorld was something I felt both my older daughter (12) and my husband would really enjoy. Thoughts??

We haven't noticed any decline and love SW.
If you are going in December, there is a fantastic ice skating show / Shamu Christmas Miracles / Fireworks / Clyde & Seamore Xmas show etc

I don't LOVE the park but it's quite fun. I've always found it a bit of a jarring contrast with the staff v Disney and so on. Not saying all seaworld staff are awful but I come across indifference and unhelpfulness far more at seaworld than Disney.
That having been said, I didnt find the change of ownership changing anything for good or bad. YET.

there is loads to do there, being this close to dolphins gives you that awe feeling they are such gentle so very intelligent creatures and so huge at least 10-12ft long. shark encounter too(i think) i cant even think of what else is there as its nearly 3yrs since we were in orlando :(
I love SW, its probably my favourite park!

If you do return Keith, make sure to get at the Clyde & Seymore show a bit early. The warm up mime artist is a real hoot....caution, he tends to pick on late arrivals! :hide:
I always find the best approach to Seaworld is to study the park info they give you with the show times etc.
If you plan the day right you will be able to see a show, and then move on to the next and so on until you`ve seen them all. The rest of the day could then be spent viewing the other [non-show] attractions or doing a bit of shopping etc..

Love Sea World.
To be different - the kid's play area there is amazing compared to what Disney offer the young ones.:sorry:

ok, you weren't asking me but I'm going to give you my answer :D
Definately Blue Horizons followed by the beluga whale attraction. If you stay there long enough, they do pick you out and 'chat' to you.....
