View Full Version : What sunscreen do you use?

In Cyprus we used Boots own brand kids factor 50 once a day which gave up to 3 hours water protection and 6 hours normal protection. It did its job beautifully.

But...

It's like plastering yourself in lard everytime you put it on. It's so thick it's hard to rub in and you can see residue sitting on your skin. And it stains clothing terribly.

So I'm looking for alternatives please.

I don't know if it is available in the UK or not but Banana Boat and Coppertone both make a spray on SPF50.

Yeah my sister in law swears by P20 but I'm not sure about using it on an 8 year old's skin.

It was recently rated as one of the best for protection and one the of greatest sunblock values. You can find this at Wal-Mart and Kmart.

Ambre Solair factor 50 spray - its a clear one and leaves no marks, i got fed up on the stains on dd's light clothing in the summer. Have you seen those turquoise ones for kids? I cant look at the bottle without thinking about the stains it must leave!

I can't stand sunscreen that I can feel. I use neutrogena's brand of sunscreen.

Neutrogena (as Foreverducky) It's not sticky at all, and there is a spray on version. I don't like that one because it goes on cold! We use the cream... works very well, doesn't sting (not even the eyes) and doesn't make your skin go all bumpy and red.

It's weird, I didn't like the spray at all. It seemed to have a greasy-ish type of feeling. So I always stick to the cream version. Maybe it was just a quality issue of that can.

Hawaiian Tropic Sensitive. Smells lovely and great range of factors. I use the lotion, which rubs in well.

We love Ocean Potion....pick your spf...30 is in blue tube and 50 is in the pink or purple one. Very nice if you can find it...it is made in FL. They even have a 70!
