Am I right in thinking to get something shipped from WDW then it costs as much as the something itself?

Well no ;-) but it can do!

I tried a snow globe and that was more for shipping than for the thing, but something small, light, but expensive, wouldnt cost as much even with insured shipping.

What is probably true is that it usually doesn't work out too well and you may be able to ship stuff yourself more cheaply.

I tried to ship a pen and a pair of mickey ears that came to a total of $20. It cost an extra $30 to ship them home. It cost just under $12 to post it from the post office at palm parkway. It took 10 days to get there, though.

It might not be relevant - but I had something sent over from the States a few months back - cost of products themselves was about 50, but I had to pay an import fee of 14. Another time I ordered some lego (I know, I'm a big kid) and the import fee was 28!!! :thud:
Probably best to bear this is mind if you're ordering stuff from overseas....

My DH was shocked at the import duty when he brought me a huge lego set from USA :sorry:

its costing me a fortune at the moment with shipping charges my problem is i am trying not to have an operation on my foot so have to wear backless shoes, mules, but in the uk there are not many that are suitable so having to ship from the usa and the import duty is very expensive :(
