View Full Version : What time to get to EPCOT on new years eve?

OK I've never done this before but this year I really want to be in EPCOT for the new years eve celebrations.

Now this week some of the parks, not EPCOT, have already closed early due to capacity so I'm getting nervious about what time we'll need to be in EPCOT by in order to make sure we're there :/

Anyone any ideas from past experience??

I'd probably go early. We went one year for NYE. Disney gave out party hats and horns to everyone. I swear it sounded like a bunch of ducks mating  It was pretty packed and rowdy. We ended up going over to DHS to ring in the new year and do EMH.

Never been there for NYE Keith but from everything I've read you may want to go early, just to make sure. Do you have an ADR?

Question is... what's early?

The first fireworks are on about 7:40 I think and we have reservations about 8:30pm so we'd want to be there about 7pm "naturally" but should we be aiming 5pm? noon???

Early afternoon tbh.

Early afternoon tbh.

Right! good advice thanks!

The parks have all been filling this week and one day (not christmas day or anything) mk, studios AND ak were all refusing entry :/ so I have a feeling this may be a really crazy year crowd wise

We were down the 16-20 and it was busier than I've seen in years! Is it still warm down there?

I agree with Johnie on this Keith, definitely NLT early afternoon. Perhaps check with the concierge at your resort and see if they can tell you how crowded it might be.

We've gone as late as 5:00 pm with no problem, however this week has been uncharacteristically JAMMED.

Haven't seen all the parks closed for more than one day in years.

So, I'd aim for noon to be safe. If you don't like that idea, then try 2:00 but I'd not go too much later than that, given the crazy high attendance this year.

Brill thanks :) It's not like us to spend so long at a park but I think it sounds like a necessary tomorrow.
