This sounds brilliant!

To be created by the imagineer who did Expedition Everest. It is a by reservation only theme park open at night as the name suggests. It has 4 zones - islands of the pacific, Jungle trek, Tropical Americas (yucatan penisular),South east Asia. You start with a river cruise and travel through 4 villages. Then you leave the river and jungle trek. At every stage there are options either an easy route or an adventurous route. You can do a death slide, ballooning, caving, rope bridges. There are opportunities for up close and personnel encounters with animals. There is a bat cave, capybaras, etc. You pass through a jungle infested with tigers and cross a river with giant tropical fish. Dinner is included and the experience is taylor made to suit you.

OMG That sounds absolutely fantastic. Is there any time as to when and if it will happen?

According to rumour, current plans call for this park to officially throw open its doors in October of 2011, just in time for the start of Walt Disney World's 40th anniversary celebration.

DNK will be restricting the number of guests that can enter this park every afternoon. Only 2000 people will be allowed into WDW's 5th theme park at any one time.

Disney's Night Kingdom's operating hours will be 4 p.m. to midnight.

The Imagineers want your Disney's Night Kingdom experience to be distinctly different. Something that you'll remember for the rest of your life.

How so? Well, let's first start with the extraordinary guest service that you'll experience as you enter DNK. Current plans call for Disney's Night Kingdom to be staffed by 4000 cast members. That means that -- for every guest that visits this theme park -- there'll be two cast members to take care of their every need. So expect to receive a lot of personalized attention & pampering once you arrive on site.

After you've finished checking in, there's a whole new world to explore. Have you ever dreamed of acting like Indiana Jones and riding a zip line over a pool full of hungry crocodiles? Or hand-feeding a hippopotamus? Well, here you can.

Mind you, Disney's Night Kingdom will have no traditional theme park rides per se. But you'll still be able to get your fill of excitement & adventure as you strap on a pair of night vision goggles and then wander out into a pitch-black African savanna. Where you'll then be able to observe up-close lions & hyenas as they go through their nocturnal hunting routines.

You'll also be able to try your hand at spelunking as you explore a cave full of bats. Or -- if you're not a big fan of bats -- how about rock climbing? Does that sound too much like work? Then why don't you head on over to that South American-themed enclosure where you can frolic with some penguins?

And once you've had your fill of adventures, grab a gourmet meal at one of the park's two highly themed eateries? Or, find a seat inside of Night Kingdom's centrally located main theater. Where you'll then be dazzled by a state-of-the-art stage show which will be produced by Disney Theatrical and feature top Broadway talent.

Admission to DNK is going to be pricey. Right now, Mickey's leaning toward charging guests $250 - $300 per person in order to gain entry to DNK.

Is there any clue as to where it will be? 2011 would be our trip following next year so we may have to look at christmas time instead of August then as I would love to do this and my kids would be at a great age for it.

Supposedly October Lisa....but, remember, it's not been made official yet as far as I know. Also, how old will the kids be by then....I have a feeling there may be an age limit on this.

Looks like we will be giving this one a miss for quite some time. I don't fancy tossing Katelyn into a bat cave unless it has a bat phone and a bat car

I know age limit age limit :tongue0011-1:

YIKES! That's expensive! I'd have to be pretty convinced it was the experience of a lifetime before I'd shell out that kind of money!

Rock climbing at night?

Well, will surely look forward to hearing more about it, but for now, way to far out of my league!
