how does virgin online checkin work?

Normally we use PE line but apparently the virgin online bag drop can be even faster?

Bit nervous but how does it work? how far in advance can it be done and what do we get to say its all worked?

And after you've checked in on line, where do you put your cases when you get to the airport?

Wow ok well erm deep breath :lol:

You can checkin online at the virgin web pages 24hrs before your flight. It's accurate to the minute so you wont get any joy trying beforehand.

you need the usual stuff you need to sign into virgin and see your reservation. Sometimes when you login with your virgin website user id, it'll find your flights. Sometimes it wont and you need to give your reservation reference number which looks something like G6Q9ZZ

Once you've found your flight online. You'll need to confirm name/address details for the person who made the booking and you'll be asked how many other people in the party you want to check in. Type the number and next.

Then you go through filling in their name details

You also have to fill in details from the passport. Number, valid from, expiry date and so on.

You get to the end and you've given an option to print your boarding pass or not. You may as well. If you do print the boarding pass, take it to the airport with you with your eticket. If you dont thats fine, you just take your eticket as usual.

Once at the airport, join the line for "bag drop". I say line, there may be a couple of hundred people in economy queue, 10 or so in pe/upper and no queue at all for bag drop! dont let it throw you! go stand there and insist youre there for the bag drop :)

At this point you have to smile and stare straight ahead because the folks in the PE queue will tend to glare at you (ps. I use the online and bag drop even when I fly PE! IT's faster)

Then you'll get to the desk, plonk your cases on the belt as usual and the whole process will be over and done with much more quickly than not checking in online :)
