Age Check?

Im going to WDW in October; I will be 18 but we were putting on the age for me as 17 and it took off about 100 so dollars.

My mom is on a budget and we need to save as much money as possible.


Can we actually do this w/o getting in trouble by Disney?!

Technically you are stealing, and heaven forbid that something would happen to you that would result in your true age being revealed.

I'm not sure if Disney will check? I know when we check in I have to show I.D. but that is because the reservation is in my name. I've never had Disney ask about ages of other people in my party.

I'm surprised to learn that there is such a difference between 17 and 18 years of age in the cost!

Could you maybe try to conserve funds by some other means?

Yep, Disney will allow two adults over the age if 18 in the room. Any more and there is a charge per night, per adult. The charge is computed by the type of resort as well.

I would say yes. If they do check and it comes out that you are 18, then your Mom is going to have to come up with a pretty big amount of cash right then and there to payoff the reservation. That would be an even worse situation then having to cut out a few meals or something to save on funds. :yes:

The only time we were there with a non paying minor was when Tatiana was 18 months, it was obvious she was under 3, so they never checked.

Having said that, I agree with what has been said before.

yes i definately agree with all that has been said.
if it was to come out and you had decieved them maybe they could refuse you staying and then you could lose all your money.
you could easily save $100 some other way, like refill water bottles around the parks. decide not to buy gifts for family and friends, etc xx

You know what, the people checking you in really don't care how old you are and are not going to check your ID. I do say honesty is the best :thumbsup:however when I stayed at the Allstar music one time the lady kept asking me at the counter if I needed a fridge for medication and I kept saying no I don't have any meds and she kept nodding her head yes you do so finally I clued in and agreed with her since she insisted so much. Later I realized that there is an extra 50 dollar charge for a fridge unless you need it for medication. We travelled last may with our 16 year old who could easily pass for older and really they didn't care. They only ask for ID of whoever the reservation is under and you my friend don't even have to go up to the counter.Anyways you and your mom have to live with your little deception and not anyone on here so I guess do what ya gotta do.

We always stay offsite too, id rather have 2 weeks offsite than 1 week on which is what it would come to for us :yes:

No feather's ruffled here :D We've only stayed on site once and it's very unlikely we will ever stay again. I actually prefer to get away from everything Disney at the end of the day :hide: :lol: We prefer to go self catering, one room for 2 weeks can get a bit too much for me :embarassed:
