Do I really need to get this to be able to have a seat at the concert? I was thinking of doing Le Cellier and it's 2 dining plan credits for lunch. Not sure I want to spend 2 on lunch. How long do you reckon I'd need to line up for?

You don't have to do the package but having said that, both times we have been, we have seen people have lining up at least 11/2 hours in advance so they can get a seat, especially for the first one of the evening.

The names aren't out yet either, so I would probably wait until then

We went to the CP with Trace Adkins last year. The line for non package holders was almost in Germany (and that included having them double lined up in Italy). I don't know how many people, if any, got in.
If there is a particular night you want to go, I would personally book a CP package at Biergarten (or one of the other cheaper ones) and pay OOP. Orrr you can always sit in the American pavillion and listen (if you don't care to see it)
