 Hi everyone
Thank you all so much for the birthday wishes and texts I've received today. I've had a wonderful birthday

DH made me a cake and I had a slice for breakfast :embarassed2:

We then made the twenty minute journey to Kirkley Hall. Can you believe I've lived here all my life and only just found out this place existed a couple of weeks back. Because we had planned a meal etc for late this afternoon, we left the Hall way before we were ready to. We could have easily stayed a few more hours. We didn't even venture into the gardens etc but, it was raining all morning so we plan on going back on the next dry weekend.

There were lots of babies around including meerkats, wallaby, lemurs etc. Every animal was as wet as we were but hey, it's the great British summer after all!

We went for a meal at Frankie & Benny's and mine was free as it was my birthday. I also got two free gifts instead of one with some Obsession DH bought me....as it was my birthday. Can't be bad eh!

The day was way better than I expected and we have found somewhere local to hang out with animals :D

That was the friendliest snake I've ever held  Very active.
Some of the meerkats were so small, especially wet through with the rain. The babies were diving on our feet as an escape to a dry land I think!

Great photos Diane, thanks for sharing.

Now, did any of the meerkats try to sell you any "simples" insurance?

How did you manage not to "accidently" leave with that little baby meerkat?! How cuuuuute were they?!
