My grandad passed away at 10.00 this morning, sadly he was in a great deal of pain when he went but on a good note he had his two daughters with him.
We have all spent the day with him to say our good byes, he looked so comfortable and peaceful which was comforting.
Lots of crying and laughs have been had over the last week and I'm sure grandad would have been proud to see all his family together to spend his last few days with him.

Thank you everyone, it's so nice to know your all here.
I didn't sleep well and I've spent most of the morning walking around in a daze.
I'm not looking forward to tomorrow as our youngest son has gone to camp on a school trip so he doesn't know what has happened. I just hope he'll be ok.
Our eldest son has gone very quite and hasn't really said much, it was a hard day for him yesterday as he also found out someone he knew at school died from a brain tumour.

Ah, your poor boy. :( It's so hard when one is young. They expect to live forever, and learning that isn't the case is very difficult.

Will be thinking of you and carrying you in our hearts... :hug2:

If I'm honest I'm not doing to well, I'm ok if I'm with the family but not so good if I'm on my own.
I've been suffering with stress related problems for the last couple of weeks and it's not improved.
I'm going to see the doctor this week if I can, I haven't been to work this week as I don't think I'm ready just yet.
We have the funeral on the 6th July so I think I will try and get signed out work till after that.
I know it will take time before I will start to feel better.

Yes. :hug2: You need time to just "be." The only way to "deal" with this level of loss is to go through it. No avoiding it, or lessening it, only straight through the center of all the heartache.

Take the time you need. :hug2:

Going to the doctors tonight and ask if she will sign me off work until after the funeral,
I'm not sleeping very well, I've still got tummy troubles, I'm not really able to concentrate on anything.
My other worry is as I am a carer, I am not in any fit condition to be looking after others. Hopefully the doctor will understand.

Lozzy, I hope the doctor helps. Take your time, rest, relax, remember him, cry. Make sure you have hugs from those around you. You have love from all of us here, and a place to let it all out if you need to :comfort:
