Not sure if anyone can help me.
I have started to do a family tree, I signed up for a trial on ancestry site but was wondering if anyone else could help me other places to trace family members.

I've always wanted to have a go as well!

A family member has gone back as far as possible on my mothers side and kindly gave me the tree in some application format. I know he's been all over the country researching it so I'm not sure there's much more I can do on that side!

As far as I know, no one's really done my father's side of the family so that would be interesting.

I've been working on both my mom's and dad's side of the family tree for years now. I use Family Tree software but I am also a member of Ancestry.com and several7 other sites in my search for those elusive ancestors.

I've done really well on my mothers side as I know a lot of information already, I'm having trouble with my fathers side as its a little more complicated.
I am a member of the ancestry site but I haven't found anything else that would help. Site advice would be great.

I've been researching for nearly 20 years now. Where in the world are your people from? That might help with site suggestions.

Cheers, Karen

My Mum has done some, I'll ask her where she goes, Jon is hesitant about researching his side of the family as a great grandfather had to 'leave' Ireland and went to South America, this only makes me more keen to research :point:

The family I have found so far are all English, not sure if I have international relations.

Phew was hoping you didn't say Irish. They can be tricky. But English is usually easier.

Want to PM me what you have and I'll see what I can suggest?

Public records (city, county) and census is the best place to start outside of Ancestry.com (which BTW is a great site and I'm also a member).
