Recieved a text from our very own Terry earlier today.
He says they are having a great time - very hot with no rain for a change. He was watching the F1 qually over breakfast (whatever that means)

Yeah, he said he's having a great time and it is very hot

When they checked in at the Grand Floridian they were named Guests of Honour and upgraded to concierge. He could sweet talk the hind legs off a a donkey, I've seen him in action and believe me it's true

What it means is he's watching the qualifying races for the F1 Silverstone Race tomorrow. Terry is a huge F1 fan

Definitely Tom, he is just so smooth, I love watching him in action.

When we went to Gaylord Palms with him and Sue, we pulled up to valet and he started talking to the young guy as if he knew him. When Chris handed over the keys, the guy said "I'll just park this over there sir so there won't be a wait when you return".

Chris asked if Terry had seen him before and he said no - our suv was parked with all the posh ferraris, mercs, bmws etc

Having seen it myself Wendy I have no trouble believing that. It's quite remarkable to see. He's being friendly but it goes beyond that in some fashion. As my DW says "everybody likes Terry". But somehow it's more than that. I don't know exactly what it is or how he does it but I certainly wish I had more of it.

Whatever "it" is.

Tom (:macwave:... lacking some of "it"...)

I think it's because he's a true gentleman and he just oozes charisma

He is genuine. He doesn't "try," he just is. He and his wife are so very kind and warm. Good to know they are enjoying their time and if anyone deserves an upgrade at the GF it would be THEM!

I can't wait to hear about it. :D Hopefully, he has taken some photos. :D :D :D

It couldn't have happened to a nicer couple. Terry and Sue are wonderful.

Now that isn't to say that there aren't some other very wonderful people on this site. :)

Well, not a text but I just got off the phone after a really nice long call with Terry.

He and his DW are packing up and getting ready to head for New York on the second part of their trip. They're going up there on Thursday and will have a few days in New York before their Canadian Disney Cruise on the Disney Magic leaves on the 15th. The cruise will take them up into some of Canada's maritime provinces with stops in Halifax, Nova Scotia and then on to Saint John, New Brunswick before returning to New York. After that, I think they've got another few days in New York before they're on their way back home across the pond. They've had a marvelous time on their holiday so far but Terry did seem to think it had been rather hot. He's not kidding!

Anyway, just wanted to let everyone know that they're having a marvelously good time. He specifically asked me to say "hi" to everyone.

And they'll be back sometime after Canada. Eh?

Tom (:macwave:... would like to be going along. Darn work!)

He sounds like he is having a great time, and what an amazing cruise that will be! I've always wanted to visit Canada!

Canada (the eastern areas are all that I'm familiar with) is an incredibly fabulous country. I would love to live there... it's the stinking weather again. :sigh:

Montreal, Quebec City, Toronto... all wonderful cities. There is a real "old European" feel to Montreal and Quebec City in particular.

I'm looking forward to hearing how they liked it!

Ahhh... old Montreal. I remember years ago strolling along the Rue Notre Dame and sightseeing. Marvelous old town with what I've always imagined was indeed an old European flavor to it. Had the most marvelous meal somewhere down there on a little side street only wide enough for a single car somewhere between the Rue Notre Dame and the St. Lawrence. Loved it! Even though no one in the restaurant spoke English and my French is slaughtered at best.

Also amazed me how clean the whole place seemed to be compared to American cities.

Tom (:macwave:... would love to go back. Just not in winter.)

Glad to hear that they are having a great time. My dad was from St. John, New Brunswick and his ashes were scattered in the river there according to his wishes.

Glad the Slowhands are having a ball. It sounds like a fantastic vacation. Great destinations. Love the maritimes! Do they make a stop in Maine?

Nope. No stops in Maine. It's only a 5 day cruise. Two days at sea and two stops in Canada.

Tom (:macwave:... still wish I were going...)
