It's TOTALLY worth having :D It's one of the sharpest lenses in the line up at any price. Small, light, absolute bargain

You'll often see pro travel photographers doing a book or an assignment purely with a 50mm. It really can help you get back to basics and get the framing correct

really...i have started to use it more these last few weeks....next i must get a replacement for the kits lens, that a top priority i think the 17-85IS will be the one i get

I'd agree with Keith on this one, a 50mm lens is lovely and a bargin for the price. I was only talking about this the other day with regards to doing a shoot in a car park, and with my 50mm being my first portrait lens I had, it worked well. The only downside is shooting at F1.8 you end up with fuzzy edges due to the aperture bluring caused by distance.

Hahaha, yeah but it is always easier to agree Keith :) tis a nice lens. It lets me shoot something like this with the use of a reflector. :P
