Very very sad.

His name will still be spoken in 2000 years time.

I remember being a child and sitting on the floor in front of the black and white TV with my grandparents watching the lead up to the Moon Landing. My parents were in Quebec, and unknown to us were driving as fast as Da dared to get home in time for the actual landing. They stopped along the way wherever possible to get updated.

They literally ran into the house and stood in front of the TV asking if they'd missed it. They hadn't!

Thank you Mr. Armstrong for one of our greatest family memories. We were all there, together as you made your landing and spoke your now immortal words.

May your eternity be as amazing and magnificent as the reality that you brought to us.

very sad indeed :(

I was just a baby when mankind last stepped foot on the moon so all I've seen are recordings :( I was really excited when NASA announced plans to go back to the moon and pretty devastated when they cancelled it all during the cut backs.

A very sad day, and such an unassuming guy despite what he did.

As his family statement asked, every time I look at the moon I will now give Neil a wink in rememberance.

R.I.P. Neil, truly a hero. :redroses:
