I'd really like to go to the yachtsmans this december and it makes sense to do it on a night when I want to see the fireworks.

The obvious choice is to park up there, have a meal about 6:30/7 and then wander into EPCOT for the fireworks.

I was wondering though if I went to see the fireworks first at 9:30, they'd be over by about 9:50.... then there'd be a shortish work through to the YC if I could still make a late reservation for the yachtsmans :/

I don't think the view from anywhere around the boardwalk is great is it?

You`re right Keith, the view from the bridge over the waterway is about the best view you`ll get of Illuminations from the Boardwalk.
It`s an "ok" vantage point and I`ve seen loads of folks watching the show from there, but that`s about it...it`s just an "ok" view.
If you need any help with the YSH let me know.

Not a great view, but you can see the high fireworks from the bridge between the two areas. Or, if you go out to the dock near the Yacht Club you can have a decent (but still incomplete) view.

According to the CM here :D the last seating for YSH is 9:00 pm.

Thanks folks :) seems like a 7pm table and then a gentle stroll round to France for some champagne and fireworks then a relaxed stroll back to the yc afterwards

That should work. I don't know when Crew's Cup lounge closes. That might be a good place for a nightcap when Illuminations is over.

Now, maybe our Inside Man can get you a later seating? :D :D

...or even a "pre-show" drink [or three] also.

I really like Crew's cup.. shame they stopped offering a subset of the YSH menu though. I had some wonderfully spontaneous and delicious meals in there a few years back :)

good idea about the nightcap :D

Anyone of several of us could contact our inside source and find out what time last seating is.

Their schooner of draft is fun. :D I am disappointed though, too that they've taken away the menu. It was a nice place to stop for a light meal.

Same as Fulton's. When it first opened they had a wonderful hefeweizen there, with a perfect ceasar and wonderful chowder. We'd get it in the lounge... now it's all gone. :sigh:

The little fun aspects of WDW. I do miss them.

Yep, that place has certainly gone downhill IMHO since it changed from the Empress Lily. :sorry:
