I used to carry a cross body bag, but got fed up waiting in line at bag check so now I just put as much as I can in pockets and carry my camera.

Do you take a bag or wear a bum bag/fanny pack when you go to the parks? What do you find is the most convenient?

i don't think i could go in without a bag, i have a smallish kipping i use now, the strap is adjustable so can be across body or on one arm. it fits a bottle of water, purse, bits and pieces like plasters/paracetamol and sunglasses case.

It was much easier when we had a stroller! all the water etc could go in the back and i would just take a bum bag/fanny pack

I have a lightweight string back pack that I carry. Sadly I have to carry something for my glasses/sunglasses at the very least. I can't do contacts at all :-(

Nope. No bags. My little case around my neck w/ key card/ticket/money, sometimes my camera and whatever I need in my pockets (typically a bandaid, lip balm, my phone and one small pack of aleeve). I just push my sunglasses on top of my head if I'm not wearing them.

Depends. Mostly, I prefer not to take a bag.

Now I would certainly prefer not to take a bag but that hardly ever happens.

I've always had a bag, but whenever my next trip is I want to try doing it without a bag. Just don't know if I can do that. I think I'd feel naked.

We NEED a bag, a large one... Change of clothes for the girls, sweaters, water bottles, snacks, camera, autograph books, antibacterial gel, wipes, you name it!... Plus its a great place to put sunglasses and hats when we go on rides.

I remember those days!! We were the same way when our children were smaller...and I swear I CRIED the first year we went without the stroller, I had no place to put all our "stuff"!!!!!! Over the years, though and as the kids have gotten older we have slooooowly pared it down.

Even on our first trip without dd we had bags  DH had his to carry the water in along with our ponchos (we went in May and there were alot of random downpours!) and i had a smaller bag with all the tickets etc in and my camera. Dont think i could go without having a bag, id feel very strange!

Sooo, when we went with dd we had a mega bag!! Changes of clothes, extra water, snacks, a blanket for the colder evenings when she fell asleep (this was in nov/dec), nappies, wetwipes - you name it, we had it!!

Having a child with you definitely does change it up a LOT.

Making good use of the child care centers can help that a bit, but you still need the disposable diapers, wet wipes and all that jazz, not to mention (depending on age) the child's own food. Hard to stuff all that in your pockets!

Yup..seems like since the first trip I have been the designated Sherpa for our expeditions. Usually have a digital camera, video camera, DW and DD's extra layer (sweater or something), water, passes, wallet and baseball cap.
