Last night I decided to see how much money I had saved from loose change and it added up to £197 which means that I will have $300 to spend on snacks etc at the Food and Wine Festival :D
I might start saving now for next year and see how much I have then :)

I used to have a change jar that was a FishBowl (ginormous alcoholic drinks served in it) from Joe's Crab Shack. It broke  so now I save my change in a Mickey pumpkin head.
Nice amount of snacks for you!!

We have ours in a giant glass jar in our kitchen.
I can no longer lift it. It's a wonder it hasn't crashed through the floor to the basement. :mental:
Tom (:macwave:... pennies weigh a whole bunch when they get together and party!)
We use old glass jug style bottles and separate the coins one from the other. Haven't counted it in years...

We''re going to get one of those pot of dreams money pots in a couple of weeks for next year. You have to break it to get the money out, hoping that will stop us dipping into it :)

My problem was stopping DH taking the £2 coins as I collected them as well

Deafjeff and I have just opened ours for our trip. Nice amount for shopping at the Florida Mall.
We both had metal tins that couldn't be opened except with a can opener. That way you can't sneak in and "borrow" change for the car park. :-)

You could have a whole vacation just sitting there :mental:
We have a giant plastic bottle that held around 10lbs of cheese balls  All the shiny pennies go into the little Mickey bank I have for squished pennies :)

The story (and photo) of my "penny jar" can be found here (https://www.facebook.com/notes/rebecca-anne-phillips-toon/old-spice-old-memories-and-new-perspectives/10150372575087744). It's quite special to me. (It's a "Facebook Note" so you may not be able to see it if you don't have a FB account, even though it's set to public...I'm not certain.)

I have a castle money box that I made at a paint your own pottery place. Everything under a 50p coin goes in it. £80+ so far.

Don`t forget to change your pennies into US currency before you go Wendy.
I've got a giant pig for my £2 coins and so far I haven't touched it. For the kids we bought the tins that you can't open without a tin opener and they decorated them with disney and florida clipart I printed off for them.
Eveytime they get any money it goes straight in their tins. The problem is Gethin is obsessed with filling his tin, everytime you put any money down he squirrels it away. The cute thing this is though he says his money is to pay for all the food on our trip, bless him.
At the minute the kids are doing better than us I think. When it was Gethin's birthday all his friends at his birthday party bought some dollars from our local Tescos. At the end of the day he had $130 in his cards rather than presents. Not bad eh?

We did that a few years back when our friends were going to WDW, everyone gave the girls dollars, they loved having their own money to spend on holiday

What is ours is ours, and what is mine is hers!
I always thought it was "What's your is yours, what's mine is yours, everything else we'll negotiate about!"

We're on holiday in Ohio, having come up for a wedding and will be moving on to Indiana tomorrow for the rest of the week so no pictures of our "penny jar". Ours is rather small and says "Golf Money" on it. It holds about $50 or so worth of change. When it gets full I roll it in coin wrappers and when I get a couple of hundred it goes into the bank. Getting ready to take another lot in soon. Donna has a tendency to keep all her change in her purse until it weighs her down too much and then she puts it in the jar. Mine comes out of my pocket and into the jar daily.

Just cashed in my penny jar...$198.42! Not bad since we've only been collecting since we cashed in for our holiday at Christmas!
