We are leaving for Florida in about 2 and a half hours. We are driving thru the night and hope to stay the night somewhere in Georgia. The following morning we are heading to Sarasota to visit my wife's family and for some beach time. We will be there for a couple days before heading to Orlando. In Orlando we will be splitting our time between the Westin Imagine and The Omni. We have no set plans for those days in terms if parks but we will probably hit a water park and either Universal or Seaworld. On the 25th we will be checking into the Caribbean Beach resort with my sis/bro families. There will be 15 of us for a week of free dining.

Left NY at 130 am and hit absolutely no traffic until a car accident caused a backup in mid Va. It looked pretty bad.We are currently in Va at exit 61 having breakfast in Cracker Barrell. I'm not sure when we will stop but hope to get as close to Fla before the complaining starts.

You are! You are in Chester! Too bad it's my flex day and I'm still in bed or I'd have come by and said hi :-)

Have a great trip! The weather has been beautiful here on the gulf coast. This weekend looks to be in the upper 80's with only a 30-40% chance of rain. Make sure to spend some time on Siesta Key!!

Hey I think we had breakfast with Johnie at that Cracker Barrell!
I honestly loved the drive from NY to FL, as strange as that sounds. We stopped a lot (being 3 months pregnant helped with that), and got to see so many cool things  From pine trees to palm trees :D

I am here in Sarasota.. Stayed at the Wingate hotel in St Augustine last night... Nice enough hotel ...paid 80$ for the night which included a decent free breakfast. We headed out at 10am continued on to Sarasota where my wife and daughter went bridesmaid dress shopping with my wife's cousin. My daughter and son are in the bridal party(march2013).While the ladies went shopping My son and I checked into the Hyatt Place... Nice hotel great room... Booked it on Priceline for 55 a night. Great value... Tomorrows plan is Siesta Key weather permitting.
I hope the weather on the west coast is better that that which is forecast for central Florida! The Hyatt room sounds really nice and that sure is SOME deal!
Take care now and enjoy your time in Sarasota!

Late chiming in here as I've been out of town myself. Glad you had a good trip down. Sarasota is a great area to unwind. Have a wonderful time down there and in Orlando.
