Our carefully crafted plans of getting up early and hitting the gym were laid to waste today. Basically because we were too lazy and tired to get up.

So, breakfast and off to the Animal Kingdom for the first time this trip.

Big mistake. Big. Huge.

I think today was 'bring your children and as many strollers you can physically hold and all head to AK' day!!

We were both pretty grumpy after ten minutes of being run over. Also pretty grumpy when a Spanish family of 8 all decided to queue hop because one teenage girl was ahead of the rest. Suffice to say not many people were impressed. One American chap went on to explain that it wasn't the done thing. To which he received a number of shrugs and arm waving. In typical British fashion we tutted and then said rude things. In sign language.

Today's offerings: (guess the rides)

Went on this:

And bumped into this pretty lady:

After less than two hours of stroller/children hell we opted to escape and headed over to Pop Century to say hi to our first ever Disney Resort. Hasn't changed at all but we have decided that CS is definitely the resort for us.

Off then to Hollywood Studios.

Visits to ToT and Star Tours. We were finally identified as the rebel spies which made our day.

Dinner at sci fi cafe which was thoroughly disappointing. They've merged their lunch and dinner menus so it's just one all day menu. Our mains were brought over at the same time as our appetisers so we sent them back. When they were returned Jeff's veggie burger was cold so it went back again.

My steak was ok if a little overcooked. Overheard manager saying (to a complaining customer) as of Wednesday this week they are no longer using Rib eye steaks and will be moving onto New York strips. Jeff decided he'd had enough and complained about our meals. They waived the entire bill so we now have a spare table service meal. Whoop. Waitress was lovely though. Will try and see if there are any signature meals available before we leave.

Caught the boat to Epcot, quick mooch around World Showcase, looked for beavers in Canada (see previous post) and we are now waiting for illuminations while drinking a bud light.

And I've just been pecked by a duck looking for food. ;)

Oh. I forgot:

Jeff mugged a cast member for a sticker:

And has been permanently scarred by the greedy birds in the aviary at Discovery Cove:

De Vine! Love her! While there in August, we had a family of three queue jump on the RNRC. I exchanged startled glances with the family in front of us, and then actually inquired as to where they'd appeared from. The mother quite rudely stated that they'd been in line, decided they "weren't havin' no two hour wait" and decided to go get fast passes instead. They left the line only to find out there were no fast passes left, so they just decided to "guess" where they'd be in line if they hadn't left.

It took EVERY fiber of my being not to cause a scene.

Sorry to hear about your experience at the Sci-fi :( on balance, we had a really lovely meal there in August. Granted, it was only burgers and fries - but the service was excellent and the food was quite good!

Where are you thinking of going with your extra credit?

We might use the extra credit for another quick service. As all signature table is fully booked. :sorry:

Oops. Tapatalk created duplicate messages.

Ps. Can't believe no one commented on me being pecked by a duck... Or is that too common in Disney now to be mauled by the local wildlife? ;)

It is pretty common for the ducks, seagulls and grackles to "interact" with guests. :sigh: It comes from all the guests feeding them. The gulls can be pretty vicious. Iv'e seen them swoop down and grab food right off of trays as people were carrying the items to their tables. Scares the life out of most people.
