I had to pack lunch for school when I was little. You could always tell when payday was b/c I would have all sorts of awesome lunches. Then, when it was getting closer to payday, lunch would take an interesting turn. I opened my lunch one day and I had applesauce spread between 2 pieces of white bread. I actaully crave those every now and again :p015:

LOL...what a great thread...My son and my nephew always argue over who's more odd....the boy because he must have grape jelly on his scrambled eggs, or the nephew who must have ketchup on them....
I think they're both nutters.
Odd...hmmmm.....I eat ketchup on my spaghetti...no matter how much "sauce" it already has on it....

I was like that when I was little. I also would eat one thing at a time and then go onto the next food. I got over that during my pregnancy.

They do, indeed! Although they are known as chocolate covered potato chips. ;) They're usually in specialty candy shops or gourmet catalogs.

I still eat that way, Johnie! Hence the picky eater label. Not to mention a few other quirks. :sigh;

I don't think I eat anything weird any longer. But when I was a kid, in the summertime, my mother didn't want to cook. So we at saltine crackers crumbled up in a bowl with milk on them. Can I as an adult say YUCK?
Eeeeeewwwww! John that is just icky!!!!
I don't think I eat anything weird! When I was a kid I used to eat mustard and sugar sandwiches, but no longer. My cousins used to put raw oatmeal on their peanut butter sandwich (open face) and eat that. Ikkkkkkkoh!
Ummm... oh, I really like a soft fried egg on my cheese burger. I only do that at home though, of course. I love pastina (acini di pepe) with gobs of butter and a raw egg broken in it (the heat of the cooked pasta cooks it). That is my serious comfort food. Mama used to let us have it when Da was off wherever for work. I love elbow macaroni and butter too. I like spaghetti in hot olive oil and red pepper flakes...
Ummm...not sure what else to write! LOL. As I said, I don't find any of those things weird. :D
Oh, my GrandDa used to make toast, butter it and then break it up in bits and put hot milk over it and eat it! NASTY!!! I HATE soggy bread! :nono: UK! UK! UK!

Beef dripping on toast? Oh ickerooni!!!
I knew someone who used to have gravy over pancakes for supper a lot. Yuck! Yuck! YUCK!
Ursula

Beef dripping has to have the meat juices in it or it's icky.
Beef drippings to me is mostly fat? Yes, some juice from the meat, but not anything I'd want on my toast! Now, if we are going to make a gravy of it, that's another story.
My brother used to like Trix with water. Mama used to give him all KINDS of grief for that one!

Silly Wabbit! Trix are for Kids! It's a breakfast cereal. Little corn puffs flavored with a variety of fruits. They are a colorful (and additive loaded) breakfast food intended to be served with milk. My brother liked water on them for some odd reason.

OK, just thought of something else I still do that I started as a kid. Whenever mom cooked steak in the broiler she would cook it rare to medium rare after first putting seasoning on it. The juices from the broiler pan would then be poured into a juice glass and we would DRINK it.

I did the lettuce with sugar thing at summer camp, and a honey, peanut paste and banana sandwich - many many years ago!
The oysters in sauce sound ok Tink, not strange at all.
We call them fish fingers too!
My Dad reckons they did the bread and dripping thing during the war when food was scarce.
Weird things I eat - well you know I eat kangaroo, and I've eaten crocodile and emu....

Ok I don't get that at allllllllllll
I have to say though that when my sister-in-law was little she used to eat comet clenser and drink her Mom's perfume. I think they figured out she had something wrong with her though. I don't remember what it was called. Other than being just plain weird.
Would you believe that I was in a restaurant last night that had kangaroo on the menu! I was so surprised! I didn't try it as I didn't stay at that particular restaurant to have my dinner, but may just go back one day to give it a try.
I know the raw oyster thing is not all that unusual for folks who like them, but I thought it was wicked disgusting. I'm not a fan of raw oysters.

My Dad and Uncle used to rabbit hunt and I remember my Grandmother cooking the rabbits for them after the hunt. The bad thing about it is that she would cook the head whole and they woud eat the brains.... An image that has been stuck in my head for 30years now. Now to be stuck in yours. Enjoy.
