View Full Version : Big River Grille and Brewing Works?

Our friends are currently in Disney, and last night they happened upon a place on the Boardwalk called, "Big River Grille and Brewing Works".
Jon was intrigued because it's a microbrewery and wondered why I'd never mentioned it. Well, to be honest, I didn't know it existed! Has anyone been? The reviews I'm reading aren't great, most aren't even good - but I'd love to hear from someone who's actually been.
Also, while we're on the subject - IS there a great place in the area for brews?

We tried it years and years ago. Not impressed.

Yeah, I was afraid of that...bummer.

I didn't try the beer but the food was nothing to write home about.

Well, you know Jon and his beer...he can be a bit of a snob...
Of course he'll also throw back a PBR from time to time so there's no telling with him!

lf anyone knows of a place where can get a good choice of beers let us know
Skip it. Not worth the effort. Honestly surprised it's still up and running.
If you want to drive just a little way, there is a neat place in Dr. Phillips that has ZILLIONS of bottles and kazillions (just a touch under Zillion) of taps for draft beer. It's originally named, "World of Beer." There is absolutely NO food though (weird) but you can bring in anything you'd like to have with your beer.

Jon's immediate reply as I read your post? "Oh that sounds AWESOME!"
We have a winner!
If they have it when you go, you MUST TRY the Scot's Pine Ale. JUST DO IT. It's unbelievably good. NO hops what so ever! They have a great heather beer too. I hate sweet beer, so don't think it's that silly stuff. :D
It's in the shopping area off Dr. Phillips (closer to Sand Lake). It's a little tricky to find, but you'll persist. If you find Home Goods, turn around and look across the parking lot to the left... there it is!

He'll be starting his "wish list" soon...LOL.
He loves all sorts of beer, that boy. I'll tell him about these two and let him go from there...

Becca we were there years ago when we stayed at BW....the beer was ok, the food was really bad....I mean the worst and the service was nothing to write home about either. Epic fail I would say.
