On that note, what's the longest you've ridden in a car on a trip at one time?
Beccaberry
03-01-2009, 11:56 PM
Seventeen and a half hours.
I wanted to throw myself out the window.

***pssst...you forgot to ask another question..... :)
Sorry :sorry: I was throwing myself out windows
Ok...let's see....
Do you blow dry your hair or let it dry naturally?
wdwgrandma
04-01-2009, 12:34 AM
Blow dry, usually.
What is the saddest movie you ever saw?
Oh geez. You know by now I can't do one of anything. :sigh: Old Yeller was pretty darn sad. Schindler's List had parts that made me sob. Philadelphia still makes me sob. Where the Red Fern Grows was another one...Steel Magnolias...see!?
If you could have a well known designer make a complete wardrobe for you, which designer would you choose?
Beccaberry
04-01-2009, 01:26 AM
hehehe Hillary Clinton?
Um...wow....I don't really get caught up in "designers" to be honest...but the name Vera Wang comes to mind...mostly because I like her purses...
Well, that and her name is fun to say...VEEEEEEEEEEEERA WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANG.....
I'll stop now.
Um. Will you be watching the Super Bowl?
"...in matching Vera Wang wedding gowns..." :D :D
Mais bien sur!!! We always have a Superbowl party for two. Complete with specialty menu and drinks! :D
Ummmmm...lessee...
Do you have a favorite football (gridiron) team?

Beccaberry
04-01-2009, 01:44 AM
Mais bien sur
Jon says the translation is, "But of course!" Is he right?
He is. I've omitted the proper punctuation marks, but that is because I have a recalcitrant keyboard. :sigh:
Where were we? Oh yes.
Enough clear lights to land a mid-size jet on the lanai.
Do you like opera in any way, shape or form?
Beccaberry
04-01-2009, 02:13 AM

Do you like opera in any way, shape or form?
*grin* Well, thank heavens I at least know what "recalcitrant" means  Don't want him thinking I'm completely uncivilized :D
YAY for clear lights!
I find, as I "get older" I am developing a fascination/interest in many things...including opera...
Not so much for the "music" but for the storylines that accompany them....
Do you like potato soup?
Dorothy
04-01-2009, 02:14 AM

Favorite song...on a "top 20" list it changes from day to day with my mood...but on an ultimate list...."What a Wonderful World" by Louis Armstrong...it's so hopeful.
Do you have a collection?
It may be tricky, but try really hard to find a deaf teacher. You won't regret it. I had a deaf teacher and boy oh boy, did that make all the difference in the world. She never used her voice, not once.
A collection? Uh, yeah. Yep. Yep I do. :D

Can you ice skate? Do you like to?
OOH I never thought of that...I shall have to look into it...a deaf teacher...
Ice skate? Um. No. I'm hopelessly clumsy when it comes to things like that....same with snow skiing...
The compromise, for the children is, we take them...ice skating and skiing...they skate/ski like pros, we prop up the bar :D

First concert? As in Rock Concert? ELO. :D :D
Music concert non-rock? The US Navy Jazz Ensemble... (so I was a weird kid, too). :D

Favorite artist? No, back to the old, "I can't choose one as a favorite" thing. :sigh:

07-01-2009, 04:06 AM
I have. I get gut feelings about people. I used to fight that ages ago and give people the benefit of the doubt. I have learned this lesson the hard way that when I get this feeling that these people are not right for me. They could be perfectly wonderful people otherwise but not for moi.
What movie can you watch over and over again?
Children of a Lesser G-d.
Do you like the book, To Kill A Mockingbird?
Johnie
07-01-2009, 04:10 AM
I do.
If you could have dinner with any historical figure, living or dead, who would it be and why?
My immediate thought was Mary Daly. Why? She was a profound influence on me during my time of discovering her.
If I think about it a bit, I'd go on to say Julia Child, or Boudicca, or Grania ...
Would you like to hike all or part of the Appalachin Trail?
Johnie
07-01-2009, 04:37 AM
No I don't care to hike. I am apparently a haven for ticks and one always finds dead people in the woods.
If you could live within another culture, which one would it be?

Would you like to hike all or part of the Appalachin Trail?
I'm a bit late on this one but I did hike part of the Appalachian Trail as a teenager. We spent 7 days hiking what was supposed to be a 50 mile hike but turned into 75.
Yes, I would. I lived in Germany for 13 years and assimilated myself quite well.

Spring or winter cleaning?
Johnie
07-01-2009, 04:32 PM

Drive or take the train?
Shellyamc
07-01-2009, 06:26 PM
Oooooo! I love taking the train!! I always take the train on the 2 1/2 hour trip to see my sister  The tickets are cheap, I get to relax, and I don't have to worry about leaving my car laying around!
Do you like McDonalds?

Have you tried one of the mobile phones that have a television in them?
Ursula
08-01-2009, 07:11 AM
Are you kidding me?.... I don't even have a camera phone it is a normal cell phone! A phone should be a phone..... Oh god now I have to ask a question again and it's early :(
Do you stop and drink in the atmosphere at Disney or just race around like a mad thing squeezing in as many rides as you can?
Oh definitely stop to enjoy the atmosphere. I love to watch it ebb and flow around me. It's my favorite thing to do at WDW!
Do you like to do the "free things" at WDW? (Ride the monorail, etc.).
MystikPiglit
08-01-2009, 02:36 PM

Do you listen to Disney music whilst onlne here?
No. I pretty much only ever listen to Disney music when Seth is around.
How many Disney plush do you own? What are they?
Dorothy
09-01-2009, 03:45 AM
I have 4 Mickey's in all sorts of different incarnations and then I have my pink flamingos from the AK that say Disney so they count. We then have chip and Dale, pluto, simba, and all sorts of assorted others that I can't think of right now. All of the plushes, except the flamingos, actually belong to the kids from their various trips to Disney. They were stored very nicely and so now they are all Zach's :D
Which music for each mood?
Ooooh, tough one. Baroque, and Renaissance for happy, or to lift a spirit. Opera for anytime. Christy Moore for when I'm really sad. I end up beyond sad listening to him, but hey that's the point, isn't it? :D Old 80's punk and new wave for silly and just plain fun. Head banging hard rock for those days when I feel like I need to smack someone (usually combined with driving very fast). OK. That's enough of a glimpse into my deep dark places!
What sports of any kind at all do you like? Do you watch them or participate in them?
MystikPiglit
09-01-2009, 01:07 PM
Never, ever participate. I'd like to go to a baseball game in the US.
Do you worry about germs?
Well, I like to think I am conscious that there are germs in the universe and take measures to protect myself and others from them. :D :D
If you are in the UK or Ireland and eat beef, do you worry about Mad Cow Disease?
MystikPiglit
09-01-2009, 01:34 PM
Beef good. :D I do not worry.
Do yo ever just 'go for a drive' or only if you have a destination?
Oh we love to go for drives!! I love exploring areas we've not been, even if they are close by. We've stopped doing it lately because of the cost of gas, time constraints and a feeling of not being ecologically friendly, but we do like it!
What color is the exterior of your home? Do you like the color? Would you change it if you could?
Claire
09-01-2009, 05:04 PM

Would you or have you been on a cruise.
lisaw

Sometimes.
Have you ever eaten any type of seaweed? Did you like it?
Johnie

I have tried the little seaweed salad they give you at hibachi restaurants. I can't say that I am a fan.
What is your favorite comfort meal?
Hmmmmm...comfort meal? I guess it might be pastina? It was the first thing that came to mind, anyway. :)
Would you ever visit Saudi Arabia?
Johnie
10-01-2009, 03:54 AM
Yes, I would like to. I mentioned years ago that I wanted to visit Iraq before Hussein completely demolished all of the history. My family was not too pleased with me. I figure if I am going to die, I'm going to die.
If you could live at any point in history, when would it be?
I think, at least today anyway, ancient Celtic times. The times of Amergin the first bard...
Ask me tomorrow and I'll pick Elizabethan era, but with Grania. The third day I'll opt for the future! :D
Do you ever watch the food channel? If so, do you have a favorite chef, or show?
Johnie
10-01-2009, 04:12 AM
I do watch the food channel occasionally. I don't really have a favorite chef/show. I did always enjoy the $40 a day thing with Rachel Ray. She is a HORRIBLE tipper though!
What was your favorite cartoon show as a child?
Hmmmm...we weren't allowed to watch many cartoons. I'd watch Rocky and Bullwinkle on Sundays once in awhile. I liked that pretty well.
Have you seen, or do you plan to see Milk?
Johnie
10-01-2009, 04:24 AM
 I do not know what Milk is.....a movie I take it? I haven't been to the movies in ages so the answer is probably no.
Are you a cat or a dog person?
Sorry! I should have been clearer. Milk is a film about Harvey Milk. It's playing right now.
Actually, I'm neither. I'm a gorilla and chimpanzee person.

Do you like the beach?
Johnie
10-01-2009, 04:47 AM
I don't care for the beach. I don't like the sand. I DO love the ocean though.
What is your favorite childhood memory?
Oh geez. I honestly couldn't say. I loved learning to ski. That might be right up there.
Have you ever thought about living in a houseboat? Do you think you'd like to try it?
Disneybumble
10-01-2009, 05:14 PM
Have done holidays on houseboats and they were cool but in the winter houseboats are freezing.
Would you lie to the police if it saved a family member. (I never have)
Oh geez. Oh gosh. Why'd I get this question! Honestly? I don't know. :sorry: It would totally depend upon all the details of the situation. I'm one of those "my conscience is my own" people and I'll make my own ethical decisions regardless of what the law (church or civil) has to say. That's about the clearest answer I can give! GOOD question! :hug2:
Do you believe that people who serve true life in prison have suffered more than those who have been executed under the death penalty?
Johnie
10-01-2009, 05:37 PM
No I do not. Life in prison can be harsh but they still have a roof over their heads, 3 meals a day and they get to exercise, watch tv, etc.
Would you rather be executed or live in solitary confinement?
Uh, is that a trick question? I guess I'd have to take solitary...
Do you have a favorite philosopher?
Johnie
10-01-2009, 06:00 PM
No, not a trick question. I'd rather be executed. A life of 23 hours a day all alone in a cell would drive me insane. That seems far crueler than death.
Your forgot to answer my question! :D :D (The 'game' one I mean). :D :D
Johnie
10-01-2009, 06:08 PM
Favorite philosopher? Dr. Seuss springs to mind at the moment.

What is your favourite sauce?
:D
Sauce? Ummmm...geez. That depends upon the food, eh? Bunratty Castle Rib sauce for baby back ribs comes to mind... Herself makes this wicked cherry and chipotle pepper sauce for pork tenderloin...I really like a good sausage gravy (sauce by any other name). And of course I like all the classic sauces, bechamel, bearnaise, etc...
Other than this site, do you have a favorite (non-Disney) website?
MystikPiglit

Are you facing a window whilst on the 'net?
I use the laptop most of the time now, so I can be anywhere. I can see out of my living room window right now, but I'm not facing it.
Do you like to "set a table" or are you happier with folks just having the table as a surface on which to perch their plates?
wdwgrandma
11-01-2009, 06:27 PM
If by "set a table" you mean something fancy like on TV, no, we don't do that. My dining room is currently being used as my crafting area, and the kitchen table doesn't lend itself to fancy dining. For big groups we setup folding tables in the sun room. I usually put holiday themed table cloths on them.
Favorite "delivery" or "carry out" cuisine?????

11-01-2009, 08:39 PM
OOOH...Sushi or Thai
Wine....Red, White or Rose (or if you're a true heathen...NONE  )
Why I like them all, of course! :D Rose being my least favorite, but there are one or two I kind of like. (Dry is the important part, brut for champagne and sparkling).
Do you think individual beef wellingtons, roasted asparagus, mixed green salad and a couple of French cheeses for "dessert" is too weird for a Superbowl party?

Do you use linen (well, cloth) napkins or paper napkins?
Oh! Sorry Becca! Wrangle? What is this "wrangle?" Does it require horses and calves and chaps and such? :bugeye:
Johnie
11-01-2009, 09:08 PM
I use paper. They clean better. Of course if I were ever to set the table, I would use linen.
Do you like to burn scented candles?
Not so much.

Depends...typical day..no frills...work only..30 minutes (I do makeup in the car).
Do you natural wood or painted wood?
Johnie
11-01-2009, 09:17 PM
Usually about 1/2 hour. I tend to hit the snooze button far too often and end up running late :nono: I have also started bathing in the evening so I have less to do in the morning. I do a quick ahem..can't really say that word....bath in the am

Team Jerseys?

Right now we both like Hidden Valley Light Ranch buttermilk. I prefer homemade vinaigrette. We like to try anything that fits our "criteria" of fat and carb limitations.
If you could, would you adopt a child from a third world country (or a little girl from China)?
Johnie
11-01-2009, 09:28 PM
Yes I would. Actually that is one of Alysia's goals. She wants to have a child of her own and then adopt a little girl from China.
Who is your favorite movie star?
Ummmmmm geez. I don't know. (Bet that surprises you, huh)?
Probably the old ones. Sidney Poitier, and Lauren Bacall come to mind first. Gregory Peck (as Atticus Finch) is right up there too. But I really like Tom Hanks and Julia Roberts and Meryl Streep too.
You know by now that I cannot do "favorites!"

The time we got busted trying to skip the preshow for Rock 'n Roller Coaster. We went thru the door & a cast member yelled out to another cast member to send us back (it was my whole family plus 3 other people we didn't know). OMG! It was humiliating!!!! We had to walk back in to that group of people, plus all the people in line looking at us being sent back. I will NEVER attempt a preshow skip again. Ever ever ever. It's not even like me to do something like that! lol
Ok, what do you think was the best movie of 2009?

josh.p.
29-01-2010, 11:52 PM
Blizzard Beach :) Much prefer typhoon lagoon and absolutely love the other parks too much to pick one. If I was forced to pick a non-water park, it'd probably *have* to be Epcot :sigh: The *main* reason is that I haven't seen most of it so I don't know what I'm missing, but also because I obviously couldn't pick MK! DHS is my favourite park as its the first Disney Park I ever visited and its got all the cool Toy Story stuff, Animal Kingdom would mean loads of Animals went too!
What is your favourite non-Disney park in Florida?
Beccaberry
30-01-2010, 01:17 AM
