Im thinking about purchasing one of those photopass + before we leave but im a bit confused. I think it costs $149 but im not sure what im paying for - I know its unlimited pictures and some ride pictures and pictures around of the parks but does it include prints?
I know you can have your picture taken with using the disney photographers for free but the ride pictures cost extra.
Is it worth the money?

I've NEVER been clear on this. Never quite known how much and what is free exactly

Hope someone can clarify for us

well this is what you get ..

Unlimited PhotoPass photos in your account
The ability to customize your photos with fun Disney borders
Magic Shot photos
Photos from select dining locations
Photos from select attractions
Photos from other Disney experiences
Your Disney PhotoPass+ card for Photographers to recognize

the Disney site doesn't state which select dining and attractions that are included nor what the other disney experiences are. I also believe there is a time limit on it of 14 days

There are 2 types of Photopass CD now, the original which is $119.95 if you pre-pay and Photopass + which is $149.00 which you also have to pre-pay.

The difference between the two is that the Photopass CD includes unlimited PhotoPass photos, you can customize your photos with Disney borders and also Magic Shot photos. The card is good for the length of your stay.

The Photopass + includes unlimited Photopass Photos, you can customize your photos with Disney borders, Magic Shot photos and a Lanyard. It also includes photos from select dining locations, select attractions and from other Disney experiences. The card is only valid for 14 days.

To give you an idea, these are the attractions etc that you can add the other photos from:

Attractions

Space Mountain, Splash Mountain, Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin, Tower of Terror, Rock ‘n Roller Coaster, Expedition Everest, and Dinosaur.

Dining

1900 Park Fare, 'Ohana (breakfast only), Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show, Chef Mickey’s, Cinderella’s Royal Table, Tusker House (breakfast only), Hoop Dee Doo Musical Revue, and Princess Storybook Dining at Akershus Royal Banquet Hall.

You will also have a red lanyard which will let the Photopass Photographers know that you have pre-paid, so there is a chance that they will spend longer with you if there is no line

The photographers are available in all the parks and at DTD.

Thank you :)
Im guessing the value is with the ride photos and the fact you get the pictures on a cd plus the general park photos as well.
Hmmmm decisions decisions

I think it works out that if you buy more than 3 ride photos, you are better off with the Photopass + so if you plan on riding the majority of the rides listed then if it was me I would buy the Photopass + especially if you have any of the character meals included as well :)

Did you know that you can go to DTD and have your photos taken in the area that they use for the BBB photos. It is a formal type of photo, with a proper portrait background, not a themed one. You might have to wait if there are lots of little princesses though as they will get priority :)

Ah thank you wendy. Looking at the ride list we will def be going on tot, buzz and splash mountain, and possibly space mountain and everest. So looks like it will be worth the money.
Shame we wont be going to those restaurants though, they should have garden grill on there lol

hmmm interesting! we do all the dinner shows but always find the photo prices a bit silly. I guess if we bought a $149 for one trip though and got photos included it may be worth it

The 14 day limit is a bit of a pain for those of us going for longer than that, as we are. I got in touch with the photo pass people and they said if I were to go to see the photo pass manager at MK they sometimes extend it, but that is at their discression.

Well that's worth knowing Vikki, my Dad always said "it doesn't hurt to ask, if they say no, you haven't lost anything" I think 14 days is too short a time, like you say a lot of people from the UK go for longer and it means that they lose out on the offer really.

We don't tend to go on many rides so it doesn't pay for us.

We are only there for 2 weeks anyway so it will be fine for us. Im assuming it doesnt start until the first time you use / when you pick it up.

That's what I said in my email. I don't know if we will be able to extend it, but will definitely ask.

I think they may be trying to clamp down on the photo pass shares that are rife on other sites, maybe the CM will look at the account and make sure it's just one family's photos before they agree to extend

We never normally get any photos at all but we do often have them taken at the luau and hoop dee doo for example. Then there's buzz and so on.

I seem to remember the basic pack from the luau being about $40something so a couple of those to the dvd would go a long way towards paying for it. Add a couple of rides and I reckon it may pay for itself.

hmmmm

Thanks Sue.

Will definitely be getting one. Steven has both his nannies with him this time so there will be lots of photos. Also we have ADRs at two of the restaurants on the + pass and it would be nice to get ride photos too.

I completely agree Dawn  it's people that share that will keep the price rising :rolleyes2:

I think we'll definitely be getting one and just get a lot of pictures taken and as long as we add enough ride photos it will pay for itself.
Keith what is up with the date on your last post - are you time travelling????
