I know that there are Mermaid clothes available to buy, but has anyone seen these or have a picture of what they look like? I have heard it was a tutu and tank top, but I really am not sure. I know Katie would probably want what they have there, so I just want to know what I'm getting into. THANKS!! :)

Do you mean the Little Mermaid outfits Shelly

I don't think there is an outfit to buy at the Pirate's League for the mermaid makeover, I could be wrong though, I think all they do is makeup, nails and hair. There are lots of outfits for the pirates and pirate wenches.

I'll have a look round and see if I can find anything.

I was thinking, you could get the Little Mermaid green dress and it will match the green makeup of the mermaid makeover, I would think it would look lovely :)

I don't know if it's still available or how much it is, maybe Keith could have a look for you at the MK.

I've seen little girls in dark green skirts, with purple tops (kind of a half top) dressed as Ariel. I'll try to find a photo. Hmmmm, I did a search and can't find the one I'm remembering. Perhaps, I'm remembering it wrong!

However, there are many variations of Ariel's dresses available (from what I saw on my search) so you shouldn't have a problem finding one for her. You may want to bring it along, perhaps as a secret? Once she gets there you can give her the costume?

I do know that they don't have outfits like the BBB, but I thought I read that there is a shop connected where you can buy themed clothing. I thought they had said there was a tutu/tank top combination that matched the theme and makeup. I guess I could be wrong, or they don't do that anymore.

I have found a few things that would look really nice with the makeup and have an ariel theme, but I wanted to know if there was something I could get there before I purchased something. I have looked into the tulle style dressed, but they would cost well over $100 and it just seems crazy after everything else we are doing for her birthday.

Thanks guys!!

He would have a look, he likes looking at the princesses

I asked him to look in Hollister for something for me and he went in there, I don't think he's ever recovered from it though

Poor keith!

Shelly, when we took isabelle to BBB i bought her the most beautiful Belle dress off of ebay and sneaked it along - i got it off of ebay firstly because its so much cheaper than buying it there, but also because there is so much more choice and you are more likely to get the most perfect dress! I didnt like any of the belle dresses that you could buy new at the time, but this one had a lovely full skirt and the ruffles like in the film. We got stopped by a few people asking us where we bought it!

 This is going to be my plan once I know what they are selling. I have already started sneaking around to find something perfect, but it seems that perfect is very expensive

Lol that it is Shelly

Learn from my mistake. I didn't buy Alysia the Tinkerbell outfit when we went when she was 5. The outfit was $50 which in 1996 was a small fortune. It was our last day at WDW and I didn't think she'd wear it. She would have.

Fast forward a lot if years later and my guilt from not buying the $50 outfit caused me to purchase the $500 prom dress. (Which thankfully was mostly paid for buy the blue Mickey bear I sold on eBay!)

Point taken

I did bring a Belle dress for MNSSHP on our last trip, so that is why I thought I might get away with a tutu and tank top this time around

They do (or did) have the thematic tutus and tanks - at least when we there in August 2012. I know this, because Baleigh and her friend insisted on owning one :) they purchased the Minnie Mouse one, but I recall clearly seeing a green/turquoise one that was decidedly little mermaidesque :)

The problem is, I recall they were quite hard to track down...I'll have to ask B if she remembers what store we saw them in. They were so much more comfy then the dresses (and trendy!).

Yay :worship: This is good news :D I know she would be much happier with this than a full on Princess dress

After a bit of a search, and confirmation from Baleigh (really? what else does she have to do in government class?) we can say with confidence that THIS is the tutu we recall seeing. (It also looks a bit like Tinkerbell, IMO, but this will give you an idea of what you MIGHT find in the park.)

Now. The PROBLEM is, the website that I found (nicked) this photo from said that it was "sold out" :( I asked Baleigh if she recalled where she saw it and she is pondering...though she *thinks* she recalls it being in DHS.

You have a list and you are checking it twice! Now we know who you really are ;)

Mermaid and tutu info *IF* it is easy to find. Don't waste time trying to look for silly things ;)

That actually MAY line up with what Baleigh said, Johnie. She said she ABSOLUTELY remembers seeing them at DHS and THOUGHT she remembered seeing it right before you make the turn in front of the board that shows all the wait times...

I've seen them in a couple of shops. I'm also thinking I saw them at DHS in the shop next to the embroidery shop
