Chatting to a friend who said she always takes the towel animals home with her. I didnt know we could do this? does anyone know if this is ok, it sounds like stealing but perhaps they expect us to take them ?

I never have. I know some people do, but like you say, it feels like taking something I shouldn't.

We were told by a CM that they are made from old towels and washcloths and you can take them home. If you ask three more CMs, you might get differnt answers.

That said, Lexie did take hers home--and she had quite a menagerie!

Remember that they will add weight to your luggage. Some of those animals can be a bit heavy! :)

We only took one home out of the many our maid made for us... it was a beautiful basket of flowers made from towels and washcloths and was far too pretty to leave behind. She must have spent an entire evening on it making it for our DD. We had a great relationship with our maid she was just lovely and cried when we left.

I didn't know that either. I kept all ours on top of the chest of drawers in the room. We had quite a collection after two weeks. We just left them there when we checked out.

I actually attended a short demonstration on how to make towel animals when I was on a cruise. I have forgotten everything of course.

I have a cat and two tiny bunnies that I bought back last year  I didn't take any from the cruise though as they were all huge.

They sometimes offer classes at the various resorts. Check at the concierge desk. I believe they offered some last December at Pop Century while we were there.

By the time we have stuffed the bathrobes, bath towels and a few blankets into our cases when we stay at the GF, I doubt if there would be much room left for towel animals!

Can I ask what they are? do you have any pictures?

They are little animals made from washcloths and or towels. The room service people fold and twist them so that they resemble animals. They can be really clever and very well done.

It can be hit or miss, Julie. We usually have at least one specialty item--not all of them are critters! At CSR, I had a couple of nice arrangements that held the toiletries. Most of the others have had a small animal or arrangement in the room upon arrival, but no additional items.

We tend to be late out the door and talk to the Mousekeepers a lot. And Shelly and Lexie even more so than Leu and I! That probably accounts for most of Lexie's menagerie last December! :)

We only had one during our 2 week stay at Pop. It was there on arrival actually. I'm not sure what it was meant to be but it looked kinda cute

All the rooms on our floor had similar ones in their windows.

We`ve had one every night on all of our cruises. It seems almost compulsory on DCL!
