Has anyone ever bought a camera or a laptop in Orlando? Is there anything to be aware of?

I guess they would have American power supplies but that's not usually a problem because they work with uk as well don't they?

I've often bought them in the states over the years.

Cameras are never a problem. They often come set to NTSC for video but I've never known a recent one not to have PAL as well. The power supplies will be US based and either need a uk cable OR a US-UK converter OR a UK psu. It's not really a big deal.

Laptops are the same power wise although they're much more likely to need just a new cable rather than a whole new supply. The problem with laptops is the US keyboard which really can get on your nerves over time

Exactly!

Every time I see a nice laptop at a good price over there I convince myself I'll be able to live with it, I'll change the software etc but it gets to me so much that I never use them for very long

I never realized there were differences in the keyboards. That would drive me mad! I've never adjusted to the minor change in the computer keyboard and the typewriter's keyboard, I've simply moved my right hand over one key. Most people that see me doing it, understand that I learned to type on a typewriter and not a keyboard.
