Yeah, I thought so too. We did the Party for the Senses several years ago (I think the cost was $95 per person at the time). We were not happy with it at all. :( Can't say as thought I'd do it again.

However, some of those sound really nice. I would love to do the Gala, but $450 I haven't got for that!

Of course, I could take a page from Dawn's book and offer to photo any of the special events for the price of tickets to the event! Teasing of course!

From Mousesavers

separately ticketed events go on sale Monday, August 25 at 7:00 am EST. To reserve, call (407) WDW-FEST (939-3378) and have your credit card ready. These events are very popular - some will sell out within minutes.

Yes, some of those tickets are expected to be gone by 7:05.

Ahhh, if only I had an extra $450 lying around!

No big deal! :hug1: I was just sayin'. :D

It's Paul Bocuse, Becca. He's the draw. Would be so wicked to be in the same event as he!

Beccaberry
24-08-2008, 12:50 AM
I'm guessing he's a chef...but I'm off to google :D

Tink
24-08-2008, 11:12 AM
So? Are you suitably impressed with your findings? :D

Beccaberry
24-08-2008, 02:04 PM
Very much so  In his 80's, wow!!! He has the most *interesting* face, too! It is a face that has lived much of life...and has the stories to share for it! Of course he had me at "truffle soup" :D

Tink
24-08-2008, 02:06 PM
He is as important to modern haute cuisine as Escoffier once was. I'm a foodie sort of nut, and do like the celebrity chefs, but Bocuse is much more than a celebrity, eh?

He and Jacques Pepin have changed the face of modern cooking from basic principles to extreme creativity.

I loved this little snippet...

"Bocuse says he's been asked by Hilton Hotels Corp. to open branches at a number of its properties. Because he impishly promises, "I will last another 20 years," that still leaves the "Lion of Lyon" plenty of time to keep spreading his gastronomic gospel to the masses."

Tink
24-08-2008, 02:10 PM
De Lion du Lyon! Exactly. The man is an institution. He just may last another 20 years!

Beccaberry
24-08-2008, 02:14 PM
He certainly has that twinkle in his eye!!

So then, is Jerome his son? And I wonder how that event works? Or where it will be held? It sound INCREDIBLE!!! 450 DOLLARS, though? Ouch!

Tink
24-08-2008, 02:50 PM
I don't know where it will be held, but I'm guessing the World Showcase Pavillion.

Beccaberry

Ok, Tink...I have a question...*if* you had the disposable income, would you splash out for it? Or still not go on principle? (meaning, you think the cost is just ridiculous).

uscwest
25-08-2008, 01:10 AM
To answer your question from my point of view Becca. You are darn tootin' I would splash out for it.

Beccaberry
25-08-2008, 01:12 AM
lol...I think I would too, John

kazzaqld

Tink
25-08-2008, 01:56 AM
Becca, I don't have the money and I'm thinking about what I can cut to do it!

Oh, and to answer your question, Jerome is Paul's son by one of his two acknowledged mistresses. :rolleyes2: I never said I liked the man. I like the chef.
