Day 2

We were up bright and early! We decided we were going to try the hotel's free shuttle. It was quite nice, not crowded and let us off right at the shuttle area which is right by the gate. We will use this from now on!

We got into DL pretty early. Our tour doesn't start until 9:30am. We were able to ride the Matterhorn (very fun but I felt like it was 1960 and I should be wearing my dress and heels ), the Alice ride and the storybook canal ride. We were going to ride the Nemo submarine ride but the line was crazy!!

We went back to the front of the park to check in. I showed them my ID and my AAA card (AAA members get 20% off of the tour). They gave us little cards with Walt on the front and the opening day speech on the back. We waited for a bit for everyone to show up. I'd say there were about 10-12 of us. Everyone but us were DL experts. Our tour guide was Meghan and she was perky and nice. She kept talking about DL like she had been there since it opened. I think she was about 20! We got our headsets and off we went!

We walked to the main courtyard and stood where Walt did when DL opened. We listened to him give his speech. I did get teary eyed. She pointed out all kinds of stuff. It was a great tour. We got to ride the Jungle Cruise, the train and the Enchanted Tiki Room (which was originally going to be a dinner show). We got to see inside the lobby of Club 33. We were able to take pictures inside the elevator (alysia still has my memory cards so no pics right now). The tour lasted about 3 hours. We went back to the front and had lunch (included in the price). You could order from about 4 sandwich offerings, fruit or chips, a drink and 2 chocolate chip cookies.

I've wanted to do this tour, but never have. Maybe now I've got incentive!

I almost forgot! Meghan said they would be building an exhibit to Walt at California Adventure in the next several years. I have to go back to see that :p015:
