Oh for god's sake at least let me get my boy back to school first.

We do not officially acknowledge Christmas in this house until the Boots catalogue comes out.

I got the Ace catalogue today

I am also reliably informed Costco have all their christmas stuff in - guess where I will be on Thursday when the kids go back to school :jumpbed:

If I bought selection packs now they would be eaten by October

Had a Unicef catalogue a couple of weeks ago. Sorry, went straight into recycling.

There was a Studio catalogue at work yesterday. I had a tiny peek before coming to my senses.

All the stuff in the Ace catalogue is so cheap I think it's last years left overs  Tempted with the personalised Christmas cards though 50 cards for 10.01 with free delivery and all that writing I won't have to do :D

Hi.

It was our grandaughters' 7th birthday party on Saturday, and I had to pack their mountains of unopened presents(25 each at least!!:p015:) into bin bags to take home. Two were definitely those stocking shaped selection packs!!!:surprised010:

When I was at my parents last week we went to their local garden centre and part of the indoor section was all screened off. I had a sneaky peek round the edge and saw a half built Christmas grotto.

*faints*

Exactly. Steven has checked the Argos catalogue, told me he wants everything advertised on TV and all that stuff.

It's 1st September. How do I explain it's still nearly 4 months and Santa still has a lot of work to do.

I never really got that one figured out either, Dawn.

Christmas stuff should not be in the shops until after Halloween!

We don't really 'celebrate' halloweeen in quite the same way over here, so not too much in the shops usually, though it seems to be a growing trend. However, it is quite ridiculous to see Christmas stuff around now!

That's not to say I haven't bought presents before this time in the past though!!:p015:

I thought I was being rushed with the Halloween stuff out already ...geez!! I love Christmas, but I don't want it around for 6 months!

Magical Moments.

well I'm usually a pretty organised person and every year i say I'm going to start present shopping in October - but i always seem to be rushing around the week before Christmas....why is that?!

however, SEPTEMBER is waaaay to early for chocs, decs and sweets! :rolleyes008:

I shall be doing my christmas shopping in New York this year

I've been avoiding the stores--nothing new there!

But I have noticed summer stuff going on clearance finally. Most parts of the country put summer on clearance around Independence Day--for us it's Labor Day. We have summer well into October--sometimes November.

What do you want to be that part of the clearance area will become Halloween within the week and as that clears out, Christmas will follow!

It's waaaaayy too hot for chocolate here. I won't even buy it until the temperature is routinely in the 80s. It melts between the store and the cooler in the car!

I do break that rule occasionally for some peanut M&Ms.
