I`ve just had a letter/form from DVC asking if I want to extend our membership for a further 15 years albeit at a preferential rate.
We need to return the form back by Sept 30th whether or not we want to extend and our signatures need to be countersigned by a notary.

Who do they expect is going to pick up the tab for the notary here in the UK?
OK, we needed to go through the same procedure when we bought our house in Florida and this was fair enough, but it cost us around 20 if I recall for the notary`s 5 minutes of work validating our signatures.

I`m half inclined to send the form back without getting the notary involved...what do you think?

I'd be inclined to check the contract to see if they can do it for sure. I mean what happens if you just don't return it? it'd be interesting to know :)

I guess that I`ll end up taking the form out with me in Sept. and call around to see them. If they need a notary then they will have to get one!

Your bank doesn't offer a free notary service?

Send it to me and I'll get our program tech to notarize it!

My bank over here couldn`t help when I needed one the last time Johnie.
Thanks for the offer but I know one of the DVC reps who hang out at the GF so I`ll see her and get it sorted when we are there.

Just wait until you are here Terry. They did the same with me and I took forever sending it back. I had a co-worker (at the time) who was a notary so had it done that way. I'd not be paying that sort of fee! You can get it notarized here much easier, I'm sure!

Do you have a bank account in Florida, Terry? If so, they may have a notary available at no charge or a minimal fee. Be sure to check into it if you still need to have anything notarized.

It`s all part of my cunning master plan to take over WDW soon Mick.
Be afraid, be very afraid, you are all under surveillance whenever you visit there...you have been warned!
