Those storms are impressive Shogun. I remember finding a guy that used to chase storms with his 20D. Totally amazing pics. I will see if I can find his link somewhere on this mac later.

Rainbows can occur without rain - this happens when sunlight is split by ice crystals high up in the atmosphere they are split into several categories these are called 'Sundogs' or parhelia.

http://i204.photobucket.com/albums/bb84/sidleydoc/parhelion.jpg

http://i204.photobucket.com/albums/bb84/sidleydoc/rainbow.jpg

And this is part of a large halo called the 22 degree halo - that is well ...um 22 degrees away from the sun - on a good day you can see one all the way around the sun ( these can be called Fire Rainbows)

(PLEASE DONT LOOK AT THE SUN DIRECTLY THOUGH)

I've got a couple pictures of sundogs on here somewhere , taken in my back garden. I'll have a look for 'em.

Sunset over the bridge I posted above... About a mile from my house. ( Both taken on my phone)

Well weather can be good right? This was taken as DW and I, while on an anniverary trip this summer to Skyline Drive in Virginia, as we drove down the drive looking for the ultimate spot for a beautiful sunset. Timing was critical as we needed an overlook that was angled just right. We pulled into the overlook and it looked like solar paparazzi. There must have been 50 cameras set up on tripods taking similar shots (their shot must have been much more professional - I like this one too.)

Yeah our sister city!! You should have seen it. Cars pulled over along the mountain road. CLICK CLICK CLICK...

Sort of like this one (not really weather but thought it appropriate..pardon me if not ok)

It was not unlike this. This photo was taken by my buddy when a moose walked right to the front of the student union at the university of AK in Anchorage. We threw down our pencils, grabbed our cameras and ran towards the mother moose and her calf.( In retrospect .... a DUMB thing to do...most dangerous animal in AK is the moose - campus security came screaching in to get the other dozen or so photographers from our class who wanted a closer shot from getting trampled)

This one is entitled.....Mooserazzi
