We are going parasailing at Sammy Duvall's next trip.....anyone done this?
Does anyone know where we would park the car? Can you get the car right up to Samy's?

Been parasailing and loved it. You will too, I did it in Fla.
I don't know about the car, Issy. I would plan on having to park at the Contemporary parking lot as that is generally speaking, where Sammy's is located.
I've only seen folks parasailing. It looks wonderful! They don't have you come down in that scary lake water either, so that is a bonus.
You'll have to tell us all about it! :9:

OH Tink, you need to do it too. You come down on the back of the boat, so even I could do it. You can see for miles when you are up there and you don't have the fear of falling.
I'd love to do it! I'm not even going to try though, until I lose a significant amount of weight. :D
Does the landing jar much? I don't have the ability to take any sort of impact or force on landing. :o

Diane you can park at the Contemporary. Just let them know at the gate what you are doing. I have never done Sammy's but did the para sailing at Castaway Cay on our cruise and absolutely loved it.

Will do......will we have to pay parking here?
I'm pretty sure you have to go through the MK gates and will need to pay?
There is one back way in, but I don't think I could explain it to you if I tried. :sorry:

I've just thought (and it didn't hurt!) that we will have an AP so we won't have to pay parking at TTC.....does having an AP mean you get free parking at the resorts too?
Yes. You don't have to pay to park at resorts. It's just that the MK resorts require that you go through the MK access gates and that is where they charge for parking. I just don't know how they do it when you aren't going into MK.
We have APs and haven't paid for parking in years and years.

You only pay to park at the resorts if you are valet parking. You don't have to pay at the MK gate if you tell them you are going to a resort.
Thanks, Johnie. I wasn't sure how that worked. How do they know people are being honest about going to a resort instead of MK?

No charge to park at any resort except Swan and Dolphin unless you are doing the Valet thing. And that is free if you are eating there on DDE.
Now for the back way that Tink mentioned.
If you are familiar with the location of the OKW, and Port Orleans Resorts you turn on to that road. Take it until it becomes a T-intersection. Turn left. This will take you past the Osprey Ridge Golf Course and Ft. Wilderness and will bring you to another T-intersection. Turn right and stay going straight ahead. The Contemporary will be on your right.
Need to add road names, John. :) That's why I didn't do the directions. I couldn't remember the name of the roads. :sigh;

Tink you so need to do this. :p015: I am a BMW (Big Maine Woman) and because of that fact have knee problems. Did not think I could do it, told them my problems and he said no problem and there was not. :hug2: I landed smooth on the back of the boat ,on my butt. No bump, little wet but that was part of the fun, try it you will like it.;)
On your bottom? Did it hurt? (I really want to try this)!

Not at all, smooth as could be, we brought both of my girl friends in the same way, I don't know if this is the way the always do it or not, or if he did it that was cause of my knees. Talk to them, you can do it and you will be so happy that you did.

It does say on the Sammy Duvall site that you don't get wet doing the parasailing .... knowing my luck, I'll be the exception to the rule
