well not dead but gone home for a bit.

and relllllllllllllllaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa aaaxx.

was it bad

yep.

At every turn we had bigotry and neurotic pessimism, rudeness and frankly appauling manners/cleanliness.

The anniversary card was only addressed to Lisa - I kid you not.

Stories please.

Well you clearly were not deserving of Lisa therefore you don't count in the anniversary.

:hug2:

No. I can't believe that. :( She didn't really give only Lisa an anniversary card? :(

One example - the tunnel was closed yesterday because of a fire

'hmm'

'what?'

'they're not telling you the half of it'

'why?'

'it'll be terrorists or ^%$^&$ or ^%$^$%'

'why can't it just be a fire on a lorry?'

'your so naive - you'll believe anything - you still believe they put a man on the moon'

I take it we are speaking about she who can't be named? Sorry mate.

Tink
12-09-2008, 01:26 PM
Oh dear G-d. :(

Why does she come to visit you? Not being critical, just wondering?

Skywatcher
12-09-2008, 01:28 PM
or,

we went and looked around a School for Thomas yesterday - much to the hurumphings and tuttings and we were very impressed - especially as in one year they take them to a primary school in africa to muck in and help out

'hmm'

'what?'

'its probably in Birmingham or somewhere like that'

'is that supposed to be funny?'

'hurumph, you have a lot to learn about the world'

:(

Grrrrrr..............

Good to hear you've looked at schools for Thomas. I assume you aren't considering boarding schools?

Tink
12-09-2008, 01:34 PM
Does she say those sorts of things in front of the children? :(

It must be dreadful for Lisa. :(

Skywatcher
12-09-2008, 01:34 PM
they offer boarding but we don't want him to - he can go as a day pupil

Not as yet - if she did I would tear her in half

Tink
12-09-2008, 01:35 PM
OH! Not to imply it isn't for you, but since it's her Mom it probably bothers her in ways that differ from how it bothers you.

Am I making any sense?

I'll shut up now. :sorry:

Yes its gets to her and it has taken the best part of 16 years to undo the damage to her self esteem that in my opinion has been inflicted upon her.

Tink
12-09-2008, 01:38 PM
:( It's sounds like such an awful situation. :sorry:

Tink
12-09-2008, 01:40 PM
Oh dear! Boarding school! Good that you don't have to go down that road.

16 years? I hope that means that Lisa was able to get away from her at 16. Good that you keep close watch. :hug2:

Does she visit often? It does seem like she was just there!

Silly woman, she would get on with my FIL he has turned into an argumentative and rude person as he's got older :( His mum is OK though, well she is now anyway

His mum didn't like me when we got engaged and married. Chris is an only child and before we got engaged she phoned me up and I still remember her words like they were yesterday "Wendy, this is Mrs Lee, Christopher's Mother. Christopher is going to ask you to marry him, I want you to say no" I was lost for words and in the end I just said "OK" and put the phone down. Chris went crazy, when I told him, he left straight away and went home to see her.

On our wedding day as we were leaving, she looked at my Dad and said " I give it 6 months, she won't look after Christopher properly and he will see sense" My Dad was so angry, he looked at Chris' Dad and told him he'd better take his wife home before Dad said something he might later regret

Inlaws!!!

Tink

Good L-rd! I can't believe some people. :sigh; Did she think you'd forget those horrid words?

My Da can be quite stern, bordering on mean too. :sigh; We've never been close, but I do respect him. For the most part. :o

Nothing at all like you and Skywatcher are describing. :(

Oh dear! Boarding school!

The building is incredible it is on the site of the battle of Hastings and looks just like Hogwarts - the school hall was jaw dropping and the headmasters office was 800 or more years old history seeps from every brick. It is a small school and we will weigh up the pros and cons - The head was a superb chap

Told Thomas and he said - coool - do they have beds can I sleep over - apparently its not uncommon for day kids to want to board after a whilk they can sleep the odd night if they want

We wouldn't want him to at all but - take each step as it comes - we shall see
