UPDATE.... Big hugs for my cousin

My cousin is pregnant with her first baby and it due on Monday, she has been getting contractions since last friday and has been sent to hospital twice due to her midwife having concerns.
The first was due to her bloody pressure but she was sent home, she was sent back today because her midwife is worried about her liver.
I have just had a phone call and she has been sent home again with an appointment to return on Monday to be induced, They have told her that she will have to have the baby ASAP as the condition could be dangerous for the baby.

Oh dear, will be thinking of her and the baby and wishing them both to be healthy and well. She must be frightened too with all of this happening and it being her first. Keep us updated on how they both are.

Just spoken to her and she i really tired, and a little worried. They have told her that her liver is producing a toxin which is why she has a rash on her skin. They have told her once the baby is born everything should return to normal.

Update when I get any more news

my friend had liver problems, so much so that her baby was born by C-Section very early, baby was fine and she was poorly for a few weeks after but was then fit as a fiddle amazingly quickly!

oh for goodnes sake, why are they sending her home each time - it's ridiculous given the possibilty she may have liver problems....and i thought they said baby would have to come pretty soon for that reason :rolleyes008:

Yeah tell me about it, It makes me so cross sometimes, I was treated in the same way but when my son was born they couldn't have treated me any better, funny how when something is they fault they are really nice to you.
Not that it was they fault my son was born with a cleft lip but they hadn't seen it on the scan so I could have been really cross.

Is your son ok now? Usually a cleft can be repaired quite nicely. :hug2:

Ah! That's wonderful. Operations are no fun for little ones, but sometimes the necessity simply outweighs the discomfort.

Let's hope all is well with your cousin.

Hope your cousin is OK and that she has her baby soon. That must really be a pain having to go back and forth like that. I think here in the US they would keep her.
