we're wondering if theres a tour of celebration or anything like that? is it just better to go and wander round and maybe have a meal there? Any special events or anything we should look out for?

There`s not a tour that I know of.
Although it covers a large area, most of it is taken up with houses and office blocks which obviously aren`t worth a visit!
The only "touristy" area is around Market Street in downtown where all the restaurants and shops are located, together with a hotel.
It`s really nice there at Christmas where they have carol singers and a "snowfall" in Market Street every hour at night time.

I have a video I took on our last visit which was end of last year....link below
We stopped by today to try and purchase some hydroponic lettuce at the Sunday's Farmer's Market but had no luck.
Anyway, I noticed a sandwich board sign advertizing Segway tours of Celebration. Didn't find out anything else, but I thought I'd throw it into the mix anyway.
There are several special events at Celebration throughout the year.

There certainly isn`t any Disney transport to Celebration.
Not sure about the Lynx bus though, no doubt others will be along to help.

not sure either :/ but I know when we had a limo for our wedding, they took us around celebration at christmas and it wasn't far at all! So I'd assume a taxi wouldnt cost much
I don't have a clue about Lynx routes, but I'm sure one at least gets close. The problem is, that if the bus doesn't go right into Celebration it's quite a long walk into the area that worth visiting.
From DTD a taxi shouldn't be bad at all. Actually, a taxi from AKL would be the closest, I think.
