To get a rough idea of the cost for Feb 2010, what sort of percentage do you think I should add to the 2009 prices? Anyone any thoughts on this?
Thanks. :)

rough guess I would say 5 - 10 % based on what I am seeing at the moment - but that is very rough

Thanks, I was thinking that maybe 10% would be a good starting point.

Always high ball the budget. That way there are no (or at least fewer) ugly surprises.

:p015:

The free dining for next September has been tempting me. :D

:D that seems a little closer than 1 year 5 months and 2 dauys away ;)

Would that be your anniversary visit, or a pre-visit then? :D

Remember free dining, as attractive as it sounds, it chaos. Doesn't it require rack rate on the room too?

I would really like to see some figures that compare rack rates and free DDP with an AP rate, or other rate on a room, and DDE discounted food.

It would be very interesting to see how much was really saved with the free DDP.

Well, it's really not two trips, rather just one in two parts.

 It would most definitely be just the one trip!

We could go to Scotland for the actual anniversary. :D

See, a win-win situation.

I miss the simple days of strolling into a travel agents, sitting in a nice comfy chair, telling them when you wanted to go and having them find the best deal for you..... :sigh;

My eyes have gone blurry staring at the screen... and I'm irritated that I can't book a flight until 11 months out... :rolleyes008:

I'd use the voucher exchange thing if you're desparate - we didn't save that much using the miles this time

Tink, we calculated the "savings" using the free DDP in October 2006. Two adults staying in one room at PC.

If we followed our normal pattern and dined at four TS restaurants, we would have saved about $200, including all snack and CS credits (estimating snacks at $3 and CS at $10) over the AP discount. We stayed 9 nights, if I remember correctly.

We did actually dine at TS restaurants 8 times (used 2 credit at YSH), which added another $250 or so "savings"--although adjusted for additional CS or off site dining, it would be about $150.

Net savings of about $350 over 9 nights/10 days for 2 adults at a value resort.

Probably won't do it again, but it was fun to do it once!
