Letter from the headmaster approving our leave

and

Partnership bunfight/bloodbath for school holidays has just been completed and i won the 2 weeks ( after a countback on points it has to be said)

So it looks like we are definitely off then :D

May even get around to pre trippie - but for some reason the Trip report section looks rather full at the moment ;)

Time to scribble the mouse ears on the blackboard and start and official countdown in the kitchen.

Indeed it is never pleaseant - once a year and we all fight like dogs over the kids holiday weeks - there are 11 of us in the practice all with kids of various ages and we only let 2 people be off at any one time so hence the bloodbath

In January I number each day back from the holiday on the calendar and then in the evening I put a Disney sticker on the day that's gone.:smiley3:

It really was - we have some in our nuumber who are more, shall we say, vocal than others who always plkaye the 'my kids are older and doing more improtant stuff in school than yours card.

I had numbers lined up for cancellation if needed(DC said I'd geta full refund up to 6 weeks before I think) so it really is a relief

Are you a senior partner?

Skywatcher

Nope the oldest partner is the senior one - in our practice though it is only for headings on paper or listing in the phone book, it carries no extra weight or responsibility

Too true - for the first time it actually feels real and not just a lot of confirmation numbers

Yes but not a Partner - she is salaried and her holidays are not dealt with in the same way

Dawn
22-09-2008, 02:46 PM
So her holiday gets approved despite when others are going?

Well then you can say "my wife has had her holiday approved, she can't go without me"

Skywatcher

Bunfight? You threw rolls at one another? Points? Whatever do you mean by points and how do they factor into your having the holiday you need?

It sounds all to aggressive and scary to me! Surely glad to know that you were able to get the dates you needed!

I'm thrilled for you all. Maybe if things had of got a bit nasty. You could have unleashed your special brand of "magic" into the room. I am sure they would have granted you anything then.
