Is he ok with Wishes? Does he like boats/water? If so, he would love it. It starts out at the Contemporary (been in a different place in the resort all 3 times). They have snacks and drinks available. Capt hook and Mr Smee come in and play with everyone, take pics, etc. The 2 lead pirates come in and get everyone into their groups (2 large groups since there are 2 large boats). You get led down to the dock and they want you to sing.

Once on the boat, there are jokes, trivia with prizes, congratulations to those celebrating things, and singing. They pull up so you can see the EWP and then position in front of MK so you can watch Wishes. It is the PERFECT view since you can see all the train, the front of MK and the castle all at once. Just beautiful. They turn out the lights and pipe the Wishes music in and you watch. Afterwards, you go back to the Contemporary and Peter Pan is waiting to meet you on the dock.

It is so worth the money. I;m excited that you don't have to be a Grand Gathering anymore to do it. Though I imagine this is going to make it harder to get in.

He likes pirates, after a fashion and fell asleep before Wishes, but did like the other fireworks display. He likes boats and loves water.

I wonder...

We saw lots of little ones dressed like Peter Pan and pirates. It really is a wonderful cruise.

24-09-2008, 02:29 AM
Oh, he might really like that. His Da might too!

24-09-2008, 02:31 AM
Now I feel like I've talked it up too much.....I hope you like it!

24-09-2008, 02:32 AM
Oh, don't feel that way. :hug2: Peter Pan was his Da's all time favorite, so this is almost a no brainer.

Oh, how long does it last (about)?

24-09-2008, 02:34 AM
hmmmm....I'd say the whole thing is about 2-3 hours. Taja and Figment went with us the last time we went. Maybe they will remember the time frame.

24-09-2008, 02:35 AM
Oh, that seems like a nice time period for the cost.

We are definitely doing this! Makes a change to be adding something instead of taking something away.

24-09-2008, 12:48 PM
In my group photo, it is mom in the back, my sister Dana, Alysia (the one with the black underneath her hair), her friend Jordan and me in the Capt Hook tshirt.

You could book 180 days out when it was a Grand Gathering. It's probably the same thing now. I'll doublecheck.

24-09-2008, 02:29 PM
So, if you book this, how many will be on the boat with you?

24-09-2008, 02:31 PM
It's a good sized boat. It probably holds 60 people or so.

WOW! I thought you were going to say "about 10"

24-09-2008, 02:39 PM
Oh no, there are usually several groups on each boat.

24-09-2008, 02:40 PM
Oooooh! Love this! Leu will be so excited--we never have enough people for a Grand Gathering!

I'm going to say it was 2.5 to 3 hours from gathering time to docking. I'm thinking Wishes was at 8:00 p.m. that night (it was an EMH night at MK) and we had to gather about 6:30 p.m. Not knowing what to expect, we all arrived about 30 minutes earlier and chatted a bit. :)

There can be extended time on the dock at the end if you want to see Peter Pan. So actual gathering to docking is about 2 hours, plus additional waiting time and time to visit with Peter Pan. Allow about 3 hours.

Sorry! Was thinking it through as I typed!
