...or in MY case...three suitcases, two backpacks, and enough cords and cables to hogtie a goat with...

Two more sleeps.

We took our "Disney Fund" (translated: change jar) to the bank today....$125 extra to spend at Disney...well done us!

I'm enjoying the last two days...enjoying the utter exhaustion that inevitably leads up to the "night before." Enjoying the anticipation...the eagerness...the little thrill that fills my soul each time I mark something off my "to do" list.

I was reminiscing tonight...hard to believe it's been over a decade since we took our first trip to Disney World...Andrew was just a bit over five years old...Baleigh was only about nine months...I could fit an entire outfit for each child in a ziploc bag...now they each have to have their own suitcase...our first trip was a four day "long weekend" booked through a travel agent staying at the Comfort Inn...this year we'll stay for 10 days onsite booked by friends, for friends...

Andrew will turn 16. I still haven't wrapped my mind around that...Alysia will *graduate* this year...wasn't she just 12 last month?

It will be a special trip, I can sense it...

 at least I get a decent song in my head this time! I love George Thorogood.

sigh....I can't beleive how grown the children are. I don't feel a bit older.....

I cannot wait till the trip! I am ready to go NOW! I am packed....still waiting on those shirts though.

Well then, come right on into the waiting room and have a seat...my CONTACTS that were supposed to arrive YESTERDAY have yet to make an appearance...meh.

I'm at work. I'm utterly useless. I'm trying to focus, but it just ISN'T happening.

I've planned an entire lesson around Disney World today :D

Update...

Teacher (me): "Oh really? You had breakfast with Jack Sparrow?!?!! Wow. I wonder what he has for breakfast?"

Student One (first year student, six years old): Rum. My dad likes it for breakfast too.

And then,

Teacher (me): "No, I don't know why they won't let you sleep in the castle."

Student Two (also six): "My dad says it's because he's not made of money. But shouldn't they know that?"

Oh my gosh, that is hysterical!

The lead up to the holiday is part of the enjoyment, isn't it?

The weather is nearly perfect. It's sunny, gentle breeze and low humidity. You'll not need a jacket or trousers, just flowing cotton clothing. :D

The parks are not too terribly crowded, and the Food and Wine Festival starts Friday.

It really doesn't get much better than this.

Oh goodness I hope this is true. I do not want to sweat to death. Of course, since my thyroid is still out of whack, I fear this is going to happen.

Well, that may be the case Johnie. :sigh; Thyroid issues can make you pretty uncomfortable until it is regulated.

They doubled my dose. I hope it's right this time. It's one thing to be hot when everyone else is. It's completely embarrassing to be the only one who is hot :(

Tink

Especially when you are so young. Many people draw the wrong conclusion when they see that, and start making totally inappropriate comments. :sigh;

At least you know the weather will be somewhat helpful. It's not like the dead middle of July, eh? :hug1:

Tink

Oh how perfect is that timing?! I'm at the airport now, and the clouds are starting to build, so amend the perfect days scenario to still include the potential for a summer pour down. If it's anything like Saturday though, it's easily avoided.

If I don't "see you" before you all leave, have a safe journey and a wonderful time!!! I hope Andrew's cake is delicious!

We leave for the airport in about an hour and a half - if my calculations are correct, Becca, we will be in the air at the same time and it is less than 24 hours till I see you.

Bags are packed - nowhere near as nicely as when we left Brisbane - oh well!

I have a tiny bit of last minute souvenir shopping I want to do and then we shall be ready.

(oh and I have some sushi for you and Krista - you'll see! ;) )

Karen arrived earlier. They were waiting for security to come take off her locks. TSA put the wrong locks back on the bags.
