anyone done new york for christmas shopping?

some friends are trying to pull a trip together to go christmas shopping there :D has anyone done this? any good places to stay?

really great I enjoy it each year!

We dont tend to spend much on the hotel though so cant help you much there because we save the money for the shopping

New york has a great shopping atmosphere

And beccaberry, Johnie and Tinker all have posts in the forums that include hotels where they have stayed. Relatively inexpensive (by NYC standards), for the most part. Small rooms, but that's standard in NYC, as well.
