I used to be and went for about 3 months then never again but I can't bring myself to cancel

Are you a member of a gym and do you actually use your membership?

I have just cancelled my David Lloyd one - have had to give 3 months notice.

I haven't been for months and should have cancelled ages ago - such a waste when you don't go

I do belong to a gym and since we've had our DS it's not often we go. Plus we're just coming out of the summer months and we like to hang out outside more than in the gym.

We do belong to a very nice gym with a giant pool and kid's pool. We hope to be able to use that for recreation this winter. It would be nice to get DS swimming lessons. But that would mean I have to put on a bathing suit in winter! AAA!:t1408:

I'm trying to join the one here at work. Need my Dr.'s permission and he wants me to do a stress test first. That is scheduled for Friday. It is free and the government gives us 3 hours a week during work hours.

We were members and went very regularly for months. We finally canceled our membership though as the gym was falling into disrepair. The equipment wasn't being fixed in a timely fashion and the place was getting too dirty for comfort. Nasty.

So, we canceled. I since have changed positions, so it would no longer be convenient to go there anyway.

Waaaaayyyy back in the 70s when gym memberships first became popular, I joined a well-respected gym. Stuck it out for a year, but it always was swamped when I could get there. Not worth it.

I've visited several local gyms with the thought of joining, but I know I won't go. I exercise first thing in the morning when I get up. I don't like to shower, dress to drive somewhere, change to exercise, shower again, change again. :sigh; Far too much work for something so simple!

Im not, I just know I wouldnt go but I think a work based scheme like that is absolutely superb. I'd definitely give that a go

Taja, when we went on our way to work, that was a bit easier on time management, but I must admit, I've outgrown the locker room showering and dressing long ago. :( Can't say as I was ever too happy with that. Not enough privacy at all.

To state the obvious, I want complete privacy when showering and dressing.

I tried a gym, but like many others paid for a membership that I never used. :( I like my home treadmill.

Do you like yoga, Sarah? We've thought about it, but haven't done much more than that. Does it require a lot of flexibility, strength?

I'm usually at work between 6 and 6:30 a.m., Tink. My morning begins around 4:00 to 4:30 a.m.! Going to a gym just isn't going to happen. :)

Tink, I'm with you on the locker room stuff. I outgrew it long before it was required in school!

love love love it!

If you have a good instructor they will walk you thru the different poses and different levels of that pose..

These instructors that run fast thru them tick me off...that is not what Yoga is about..

Im there for the flexability and the strength that I need in my back and hips.
