how do you get to ride up front?

Basically. you just ask the CM at the platform and smile nicely at him/her! If that space is already taken, you may have to wait until the next one comes along...this only applies to the MK loop obviously.
The best option would be to try to get up front on the Epcot monorail as it is a longer journey and the monorail will be emptied before you board.
Good luck.

 I agree....although I was pretty shocked when I first rode up front ....almost felt like we should be toppling over!

Yes. just ask very nicely and they should let you ride. Only 4 at a time though.
This is a shot from the last time we were in the front. Sorry about the state of the windscreen though.

Would they be ok with two big kids (aka adults) asking to do it or do they kinda want to reserve the experience for kids ? perhaps it sounds daft asking, but after my experience of trying to get a few chicken nuggets from a buffet I'm a bit over sensitive
Well Sue and I did it.
[Although you are bigger than me Keith!]

if you do go in there with any little ones then if you are really lucky they will present the kids with a monorail drivers licence , if the driver is friendly it might be worth asking if they have any on board

at the Ticket and Transportation Centre there is (or there was 3 years ago) a queueing area to do this! DS and I found this the easiest way to make this happen!

did it with my DGD, who was 18, Caity also 18, my friend Reg 50 something and me who won't see 60 again. They were just as nice to us as if we were kids, which everyone is at Disney and give us our licences too.

There is one (out of all the drivers, so not a bad percentage) driver who is miserable. Other than that, you should have a wonderful time if you get the opportunity to ride up front.

Try to ask when the queueing area is empty. We did it on my birthday (2 adults) and the driver chatted all the way to Epcot and gave us licences. :smiley4:
