Have just heard that he has broken his back and his neck in several places and is very poorly :(

He is being moved to a hospital in London tomorrow to be assessed fully.

He is fed up with looking at the same tile on the ceiling and obviously hasn't been moved at all so is still in his work clothes and covered in dirt and dust.

Hope to know more tomorrow night when the dotors have seen him again.

Thanks for all your prayers and thoughts.XXX

I think Stacy is going to see her Dad today.
She said she was going to be brave and see him before he gets transferred to London.

I told her he needs to see her as much as she needs to see him.

Sorry to hear this :( I know it's hard but it is amazing what can be done now :hug2:

Our friend broke his back and damaged his neck 7 years ago. We were told he stood little chance of bring able to walk again :( He was eventually transferred to a consultant that basically pinned him back together. He was in a solid straight jacket type thing with a metal support for his head until everything healed. Within 2 years he was able to carry on as normal, he went back to work (as a chiropractor) and even though he does still get bad back pain, he says it is far better than the alternative.

We are going on holiday with them in December.

I guess the only reason I'm telling you this is because I just really wanted to say that miracles can happen and hopefully the hospital will be able to do something for your uncle as well :hug2:

I'm glad your cousin is going to see her Dad, being a Daddy's girl and not wanting to see your Dad in pain is something I can completely sympathise with her over, but as hard as it will be, she will be pleased she went.

Wishing them all good luck and wishes.

No real news.

They were deciding on when and if to operate today.

He was transferred to Kings College Hospital London yesterday.
Definite broken bones in back and neck but the paramedics quick response and putting a neck brace straight on saved his life.

Just had an update from Aunty.

They are not operating but are measuring him up for a brace tomorrow then sending him home!

No nerves have been damaged so the brace will help the broken bones to mend and all should be fine!!

Seems all the pixie dust and positive thoughts have worked.

Although he is still a very poorly and fragile man this can only be good news.

Thanks everyone.XXX

:hug2: that's brilliant news Teresa.

Try not to look too shocked when you see him in the brace though :hug2: if it's the one that supports the neck as well as the back it does look a little scary :sigh;

He's got a long road ahead of him, but he's a very lucky man  I'm so pleased for you and his family :hug2:
