Our next trip is pencilled in for Feb '11 ~ A long time to wait yet but that's more time to plan!

I have a couple of questions though;

1 - Are there any public/school holidays in February in the US/Florida that we need to avoid?

2 - How cold/warm is it? Weather is variable but is there any point in paying £100pw for pool heating if it's going to be too cold outdoors to even consider getting wet?

Thankyou!

the weather feels like our summer but it does go real cold in the evening we always had trousers and sweaters on in the evenings but still managed at tan at the water parks during the day time :)

I had no plans for a trippie for this trip, I even said I wouldn't bother but recent events have changed my mind! It's a bit early yet but I am blogging.....

Gavin will be pleased! The weather this Sept/Oct seemed alot hotter and more humid than previously and he was a little drained by it.

February 21st will be President's Day in 2011, according to this link:

I'm not sure if there are other holidays that might affect the parks and resorts.

We went last week in February last year and it was lovely and warm in the day - even got a tan, but was cool first thing and in the evenings. Liked that time of year so much we are booked to go end of feb next year as well.

We went in Feb and loved it- doing it again in 2010 at the same time.

We were comming from snow so anything is warm. We wore shorts. It was overcast and cool in the morning, but by noon it was warm. Did not need sunscreen. The pool at AKL was warm and relaxing.

The parks were not crowded at all. Mardi Gras people were there, so it was fun to see their outfits.

We also did the cruise and it was great weather althout the water in the ocean was a bit colder than I like.

I recommend it.

Brilliant info on Feb thanks!

I assume Presidents day is a public holiday? We would be going for three weeks so a busier weekend to avoid wouldn't be too bad.

It's a national holiday, with most states and localities observing it. Usually government and schools observe it. Hospitality and retail, as usual, will be going strong.

You can use that calendar for different years and months and select different holidays. I just selected the major national holiday dates. Some of the other options return tons of possibilities! :lol:
